mmseng Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Okay so I made the mistake of ordering a Joye 510 Extreme low-res atty along with a batch of normal attys. They are all black and I unpackaged them all without thinking about it. Now I can't tell them apart and I don't want to burn anything out by mistakenly using the LR atty with my PTs or higher-voltage devices. Any ideas? I do have a multimeter, but I'm not sure how I would go about using it to identify an atty. *facepalm*
nana Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Someone will probably come in to tell you about the multimeter (and that someone is not me), but I can tell you that most of the LR attys are supposed to be marked with a very little LR on the bottom of the atty - somewhere. I've looked and it must be very, very tiny as I can't seem to see it. I haven't tried using a magnifying glass yet, but that might work. Anyway, try looking and maybe you'll find it. Good luck!
Jeffb Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 Nana is correct. The Joye LR atty will have a small LR imprinted on the bottom of the atty (threaded end).
snubber Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I'm guessing you found it??? Glad it worked out.
Basilray Posted January 13, 2011 Posted January 13, 2011 I would still suggest a Multimeter! They are really cheap and easy to use. You can get one shipped to your door for less than $6.
