After reading a number of threads from this and other forums, I have found a number of commonalities regarding e-cig technology and what it is ultimately capable of accomplishing. My wife and I are both now Ex-smokers of 25+ years thanks to this technology; the e-cig changed our way of life. I, being the heavier smoker, and my wife, who is very averse to change, after much trial and error and at great expense, have finally found a product that works so well, that I sincerely believe could put Big Tobacco out-of-business.

Before moving on, there are a few major points to consider:

#1: Over the long haul, transitioning to e-cigs is less expensive - but, not initially unless you affilate yourself with an experienced e-cigarette user that will take the time to explain the options, styles and brands widely available. Finding a reputable vendor on your first attempt without assistance that delivers quality product, is priced affordably, and delivers a similar if not better analog experience, is a dream. With so many products available and so many scams - the road is treacherous and filled with many pitfalls.

#2: There is a lot of good advice available at your fingertips from online forums and other venues, a growning community of experience, AND there are many folks clearly in bed with vendors peddling substandard product sometimes at higher than average expense. Understand, the e-cigarette market is new and there aren't many 'true' experts available to assist. Most of the tobacco suppliers in my area, for example, are pushing e-cigs from vendors offering the best commission - this includes "mall brands", convenience stores, gas stations and a host of tobacco shops that seem to be springing up on every corner. I, along with a host of other e-cig users, have found the over-the-counter products offered locally aren't generally the best. Learn from our mistakes and you will reduce your entry costs significantly.

#3: The trick is to find something that works for YOU and you alone. There are so many different tastes, experiences, cost levels, and product availability - it IS overwhelming. There are kits for advanced users, as well as entry level kits that provide ease of use but sacrifice performance. Personally, I've noticed as your your experience grows, your needs may change, and you may need to change your equipment. There is a learning curve with using an e-cig so the more you learn, ask questions, and try - the better chances you will have of kicking the tobacco habit.

Although the first two vendors I used were epic fails, I was convinced that the e-cig would ultimately be the path I needed to quit tobacco. After 2 solid weeks of research and through the assistance of forums like this, I found my third vendor and succeeded. This vendor introduced me to the KR808D-1 that I purchased for $35.00 from MyVaporStore (2 Batts+PCC). However, to my wife, the jury was still out. Then I bought my Bloog - and it went missing the day after I recieved it. I found it hours later when my wife needed a new cartomizer! My wife finally found a product she could use and committed herself to a healthier life-style.

For those of you looking for an affordable, simple, analog-similar device, the MaxX Fusion line at BloogPlanet.com is a high-quality, low cost, entry level system. Based on existing KR808D-1 technology, the MaxX Fusion system available from BloogPlanet was recently redesigned (as of 12/13/2010, last Tuesday) from the ground up and offers the following substantial differences from older KR808D-1 technology:

#1: MaxX Fusion is a next generation KR808D-1. All of my existing hardware from MyVaporStore, LiteCigUSA and V4L is 100% compatible so all I had to do was buy a battery. MaxX Fusion batteries are even compatible with my older KR808D-1 PCC.

#2 (and this was huge): With a standard 808 and premium carts, primer puffs were needed to heat the atty -- and -- the atty would cool down requiring even more primer puffs. I don't know if it's the battery or the cartos - but NO PRIMER PUFFS needed. Amazing! Just puff and go. With the Bloog, I get a consistent, highly similar, analog experience.

#3 (also major): The duration of the MaxX Fusion battery is tremendous. Before the Bloog, I would have to keep two standard 808s in rotation. Now, I don't but because I have the gear, I still do. One charge on my Bloog lasts me all day.

#4 (needs to be verified): Apparently, the new redesigned batt has an improved half-life - ie, it holds a charge longer, and lasts longer. The e-cig guru Leaford who manages at the factory indicates that after 2 1/2 months of solid vaping, the batt seems new.

#5: The new KR808 cartos were totally redesigned. The heating coil inside is now cased and protected - which means it won't burn the fill. Because the coil is shielded, you can e-juice very easily thru the new easy drip mouthpiece without flooding! I also noticed that the new cartos either hold so much more juice OR uses the juice much more efficiently because they last so much longer on a single fill.

#6: Another thing of note regarding the cartos is that although they run at 3 to 3.2 ohms, they heat like a low-resistance atty (2ohm) resulting in hotter smoke-like, thicker vapor. This means two things to me (a layman): the cartos last longer because of the higher resistance AND you get hotter vapor like a low-resistance carto -- simply put: the best of both worlds.

I have seen a lot of big-battery mods, huge bong-like devices that may last longer, produce more vapor, run hotter, juice-on-the-go - for me, these simply didn't contribute to the analog experience. I wanted a light weight "stick" that has all of the qualities of an analog: weight, length, life, automatic, ease-of-use; much easier to "fool the brain". The Bloog was the first product I purchased that met these requirements.

Closing: This is simply the closest to analog ecig I have used and is definitely worth checking out.

I gotta tell you, I never thought that I would be able to quit smoking - really thought I would be a smoker until the day I died. I tried everything, I mean, EVERYTHING. This is simply the most amazing technology!

awesome info! My husband and I use the KR808 supplies as well. I have SIX batteries in rotation and can easily blow through two with just my morning coffee. I was a heavy smoker and I am a VERY heavy vaper. My husband on the other hand in the evening will finally break out a second battery. He was a much lighter smoker as well.

On Valentine's Day last year my husband bought us a starter kit, and it just happened to be the KR808 mainly because he didn't want to have to mess with atomizers and all that stuff. I am the one in charge of washing carts, refilling, etc. I only vape one flavor, my custom mix of cappuccino, so no big deal, I just refill like 50 of them all at once and I am done. He on the other hand vapes like 8 flavors so I have to sort and organize and actually pay attention to what I am doing with his, LOL. I think in the entire almost year we have tossed MAYBE 10 carts....all the rest are perfectly fine. I have hundreds more that I am not even using, they aren't even in our current rotation. I vape A LOT so I have about 60 of them in constant rotation. My husband has hundreds because of all the flavors. Yesterday he gave me a gallon ziploc half filled with used carts to wash. OMG, it was crazy.

I am limited in my mobility due to many chronic health problems, so it would be ridiculous for me to have to go up and down stairs to boil carts. Well a $10 hot pot solved that problem....I boil them in the bathroom right next to my bedroom, works perfectly. I use the hot pot for ONLY this purpose. I can't believe the gunk that comes out of those things. I boil them several times until the water is TOTALLY clear and there is no odor, about every 5 refills. About every 10 refills I do that process followed by an hour or two soak in Everclear, followed by the boiling process again. Amazing what those "disposable after one use" carts can withstand. I use a big fat embroidery needle...it is like 4 inches long and really thick...like thick yarn can fit through the eye of it no problem....I use it to get the caps off and also to fluff the filler and realign that middle piece where the coil is at.

I only have to prime my carts when I use one of the short kind of batteries. When I use the XL ones I don't have to prime them. I use both auto and manual batteries and I start vaping right away. I prefer the auto batteries BUT they do seem prone to more issues....like not shutting off when you stop inhaling, etc. Then again the manuals I have had buttons just stop depressing...so I assume whatever they are depressing against behind the button goes bad.

It will be a LONG time before I can justify buying new carts, we have at least 1000 of them....BUT the batteries are another story. I can't wait to get this battery you are describing. The flip top carts sound like a great idea, although I don't mind popping off the caps. I don't boil those, but when I am boiling the carts, I use a large old pill bottle and put all the caps/o rings in it, with hot water and a drop of dish soap and swish them around and let them sit for awhile. I have also given them an occasional swish with the everclear, especially if either of us has had a cold or something like that.

I would LOVE to have a battery that would last longer!!! Having to drag around 6 whenever I plan to be out for more than an hour or two is kind of a pain. I want to know if there are rapid chargers for these batteries, to me THAT is the biggest pain. I have two chargers and I either need another two OR I need a charger that works faster. I am going to go to that site and bookmark it right now for when I need batteries!! Thanks for all that info!!

I would LOVE to have a battery that would last longer!!! Having to drag around 6 whenever I plan to be out for more than an hour or two is kind of a pain. Thanks! I put a lot of work into that review - didn't go over too well with the mod squad in other venues however. The batteries do last longer, and when I vape, (mornings, drive to work, lunch, drive home) - my standard Maxx Fusion lasts me until well after I'm home - I say a solid 3.5 hours of heavy vaping. Then, when I get home, I jump on my passthrough (PT) - I do carry an 808 PCC with an extra batt just in case though.

The Original KR808D-1's I got from MyVaporStore (also from LiteCigUSA) were my gotos - they've got some pretty high quality gear for a reasonable price - but, the Bloog blows the older tech out of the water. It really is the best KR808D-1 on the market today, thanks to Leaford's efforts in managing QA for the Bloog product line.

I've also been told that there is potential to increase the life of the battery further - the company that manufactures for Bloog is currently researching battery cell technology and I look forward to them improving the product more and more over the next few years.

I really never thought I would quit. I was great at quitting but equal great at quitting quitting. I really didn't think I would ever stop. I am beyond thrilled with vaping. My husband and I discuss it frequently, how we can't believe how long and how much we smoked and how great this is. Yes, for the most part it was easy....took awhile for me to really find a flavor I loved, but during that time I was okay with a bunch of the other flavors. My first fave was root beer, the irish cream and then the cappuccino. Now I am just stuck on the cap, I mix two a certain way, and i love it. It was fun ordering all those different things and then waiting for them to come, etc. Like a little kid waiting for santa, LOL

It infuriates me that state by state the damn government is trying to ban them. I do NOT understand how they can claim to be SO worried about potential health concerns yet NOT ban cigarettes that everyone KNOWS are dangerous. It is just all about money, like everything else. I wouldn't even mind if they just imposed a "sin tax" and then went away and left everyone alone. It is just so ridiculous. I just hope that there are no problems....but if I would have to travel and buy supplies in bulk, I would. I will NOT stop vaping.

When my 6 batteries start dying I will definitely get one of the Bloogs....unless there is something better by then, LOL. Thanks for your hard work on the review....convinced me, LOL. We can't all be trying everything and it is great to be able to tell each other what we find. Seems like everyday there is someone new selling e cig supplies of some sort.

I got my new passthrough yesterday, WOOOHOOOO....I just LOVE the passthroughs.
