TheMachinist Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Hi, I have a Vapor King (vk1000) that uses cartomizers (cartridge/atomizer) & was wanting to convert it to a 3 piece unit. I read in other threads that the 901 atomizers will work on the vapor king batts. Can anyone agree/disagree with this first hand? If it does work, then i should be able to also use the 901 cartridges, thereby converting to a 3pc unit. Anyone have any other suggestions for the Vapor King 3pc solution? Thanks.
Christopher Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 hmmm Not sure to be honest. Do you have a picture of it? Even if it's a link to a website. Also have a look into the threads on the battery, what does the serial number read?
TheMachinist Posted July 12, 2009 Author Posted July 12, 2009 Hey Christopher, Here's a link to their site: http://store.vapor4life.com/product_p/vk-1000.htm The battery has a custom label on it, so cant see the ser# on it w/out destroying the label. Dont want to do that if i dont have to. I'll try & get some close-ups of it posted up in a little bit.
TheMachinist Posted July 12, 2009 Author Posted July 12, 2009 Ok, Here are a few pics. Not sure what the thread size is, but will throw a thread gauge on it at work. I was hoping someone had already tried other atomizers & carts on the Vapor King & could chime in. But either way, all input is appreciated. Thanks. P.S. hope the pics post ok.
Christopher Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Well it definitely seems to have the length of a DSE. It also has the exact thread count as well. To bad it didn't have a serial number on the tip of the battery. If you look at picture number 2, that's normally where the serial number is, looks like yours doesn't have one. To be honest I couldn't say either way. Although it talks like a duck and quakes like a duck, I'm not 100% sure if it's a duck.
TheMachinist Posted July 14, 2009 Author Posted July 14, 2009 I think i got it figured out now. The threads are 8x.75mm. They are the same as the kr808d-1, nebula, zeus AND the 901's I contacted electronic-ash.com about fitting 901 atomizers & carts on Vapor King Batteries since they sell the 901 & the kr808d-1 & this is what they said: Quote " I am told that the Vapor King battery will work on the 901 parts, the thread are the same pattern. People have been known to do this because the KR808D batt is larger and lasts longer. " So, it looks like i'm good to go. Appreciate the help though. Side note: I read in another thread that the 901 batts dont work too good with cartomizers dont remember why or which thread but something to keep in mind. Christopher 1
ElectroNicStix Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 ok.. here goes.. I have a kr808 laying around.. i seem to collect e-cigs.. running an e-cig business and all. but A 901 atomizer DOES fit them and i have heard they do fit the vapor king. I have actually used a 901 battery on a cartomizer, but the draw was horrible.. couldnt activate it and get air through, but the other way around with the 901 atomizer and the vk battery should work in theory, but you may have to take some tweezers and pull down the center of the atomizer to make sure it makes contact with the battery, I will try when i get home from work to see what happens. TheMachinist Posted July 25, 2009 Author Posted July 25, 2009 UPDATE!! Using 901 carts & atty on Vaporking works pretty good. Had one batt that it wasn't working to good on (cuts out after 1 sec) but if you cover the vent hole on the atty, it works fine. **Also found out you can use 901 carts (no filler material or juice) on the cartomizers for a mouthpiece. you just have to remove BOTH plastic rings from the mouthpiece end of the cartomizers & make a cutout on the 901 cart (see pic). Fits pretty good. Makes for easy refilling of the cartomizers.
