Are Ego Batteries Protected?

I tried a forum search but since "EGO" is only three letters, it didn't return any hits.......

Are the Ego batteries protected? Or is there protection built into the charger? I hate to have to watch for a light change in order to stop charging before an over charge or explosion!

The charger will not over charge. Once the light turns green the charger is no longer charging.
