Ok, assuming that this thing works as well (and probably better) than this stupid cheapie freebie that I have (atomizer is already dead--I nearly bust a lung to try and get any air through it at all), it looks like I will be getting another starter set or a passthrough....although I have heard those are very tough on mother boards. Yikes.....

Not sure what you have now but electronicstix has a great 510 manual direct pass-through. I have one and it works great with my Dell USB port. I also bought a 2 Amp USB wall adapter from madvapes to power it but I've only used it a few times. My computer works fine for powering the pass-through. I use eGo batteries or mega 510 batteries with 510 cartomizers and 510 atomizers. No problems at all. Hope this helps! :)

What do you have? Just having a PT will limit you to only vaping by the computer or a wall outlet. If you go with the PT you'll need to by attomizers. If you can swing it, go with a 510 kit and add a PT.

Got a 520 on the way. PT would only be for while I am stuck sitting and doing homework at home. Thinking of going with another starter kit instead. Maybe a pen type model. Don't remember the specific model or name, but I think it is something like a DSE 801....a pen type model. That will give me a total of 4 complete units. With that, I shouldn't have much trouble keeping a charged battery or two ready to go.

The DSE801 pen style is still a 3.7volt device, and at 3.7volts the 801 or 302 atomizers don't perform as well as the 510 atomizer. The 520 you have coming uses a 510 atomizer so your good to go. If you want to buy another PV with better battery life at 3.7volts, then go with the Ego. I use a 302 atomizer (Joye version of an 801) with good results, but I run it at 5.2volts.

Going from a 510 to 801 will be a really different experience. The 801 will produce a much cooler vapor and you might experience better flavor. I have to agree with MiataFrank, I prefer the 801/302 much better at a higher voltage.

I find that with the 302 (better airflow than 801) at 5.2v, I don't have to take such a slow long draw to produce tons of vapor. In other words, I can hit it like an analog and it still produces exactly the amout of vapor and flavor I want it to.

I haven't had much luck with the 302. I struggle with the draw and I have complaints about leaking. I have some old style low bridge 801's and I still prefer those to the 302. Sad, I know.

But like we tell all the new people, it all comes down to personal preference. You won't know if it will work for you until you try it.
