Ron
I've been enjoying my new eGo for 4 days now and have been stocking up on juice from different suppliers and reading the forums here like mad. Thus far I prefer the 501 cartomizers mainly for the convenience. But I must admit that I'm a bit confused by the 501/801/901 and adapters, etc. So I figured I'd ask the experts. I really like the "pen" or "whistle" style tips but the cartos I have are standard 501s. I've seen photos of a 901 that appear to have the whistle tip I'm looking for. So can I use the 901 on the eGo or does it need an adapter? Pros? Cons? Also, are the 901s as easy to refill as the 501s? I've already stumbled across the eGo carts with the pen style tips and I've absorbed the refill tutorial. I plan on trying those out but they do look like a pain in the butt to refill. I like that I can pop the top off the 501 and "top off" when needed without the need to setup with a syringe and such. Perhaps there's a mod of some type that I can apply to a 501 carto to give it the "whistle" or "pen" tip I'm looking for. Any nudges in the right direction would be most appreciated. Thanks! DAYVAPE
If you are a carto user most of the time then I would recommend getting yourself some 'drip tips'. I'm not aware of any whistle tips for 510 cartos to be honest... that doesn't mean someone won't come and tell us different though. I do know that you can use 901 tips on 510's though... although 901 attys need an adapter to screw on to a 510 battery. They aren't a big deal to use... alot of folks use them with no problems... me being one of those people often times. The 510 carto is a great carto... so if you are happy with them now, I would say stick with them... and just see if you can find a tip that you are happy with. Also, I would recommend the silver threaded cartos, they perform better and don't leak. You can find 'drip tips' all over the internet... everyone seems to sell them. I prefer the Delrin style (long version) tip and they work GREAT on cartos... I actually think cartos perform better with a drip tip because you can pull air easier through them since they are a bigger opening vs. those dumb little white plugs. And when you are ready to top off/refill your carto you can just pull it off and fill it up... it's easier to take it off for me so I can see what I'm doing and how full it's getting. Here are some drip tips and adapters if you havn't seen them yet. Drip tips and adapters. This isn't the only place to get them... but it was the first I found and they are all on the same page. Hope this helped a little... let us know if you need anything else. Edited October 7, 2010 by DAYVAPE

I knew there had to be a way to fit a tip onto the 501 cartos, I just didn't know "what" to look for. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Luckily I'd ordered my 501s right here through VaporTalk (thanks Christopher!) and they have the silver threads. I had also ordered a "spare" carto pack (forgot where from) for my wife and those had the gold threads. Night and Day. Those gold threaded cartos suck big time. I found the Derlin style nylon tips over at electronicstix and will tack a few onto my order of LR cartos. Bobthesalesclerk did a great youtube review of the LR cartos from those guys. DAYVAPE
By the way... it's a "510" and not a "501"... just to clarify. You will love using a drip tip with your cartos... it's the only way to go, and it looks great. I can't wait until my LR 510 cartos get here from ENS because I hear they are great and the same people make them that makes his other ones... so hopefully I will be set when I want to vape at 3.7 ! I'm glad those drip tips were something you liked the looks of... I'm pretty sure you will like using them as well.

I always manage to screw up numbers when I'm typing. I've heard great things about the ENS LR 510 cartos too. I'm really looking forward to them. I'm loving the eGo but I have noticed that I have consistently concentrate on my draw. I chalked it up to being freshly off analogs but then I read about the LRs and it piqued my interest. Man, if you are used to using regular cartos on your eGo, then you are going to die when you see how LR performs! It's in another world when it comes to 3.7 volt vaping. It closely resembles HV vaping... not exact, but pretty darn close. You will definately be able to take shorter drags than you are currently doing too! I tried a regular carto on my eGo the other night and it was crazy how poorly it worked compared to the same carto on my Buzz at 4.6 volts! Not even close. But you know what's sad? I figured I'd be saving tons of $$ by switching off analogs. They're upwards of $12/pack in NYC where I work! But now I'm spending all that saved $$ on juice, cartos and accessories. LOL I'm sure that will calm down eventually. I'm an excited newb. I'm already looking forward to my next e-cig purchase and I haven't even spent a full week with my eGo yet. Someday I'm sure I'll get to HV. I just need to slow down and enjoy the ride. woo hoo! DAYVAPE
Well, if you are anything like most of us, you won't be able to resist the temptation to buy new mods. There are so many really nice mods out there it's crazy. I've dropped a pretty penny buying stuff I don't NEED to buy... but it was just too cool to say no too. Not to mention all the darn flavors and vendors out there that I hear great reviews on... then I'm off to their site fillin' up a darn shopping cart with goodies! When you are ready to move up you will know it... and when that happens you will find yourself drooling at the mouth while you are shopping and checking out all the pv's on the market. Uma
Good news is: They now make Mega Drip Tips!! (for the Mega atty for the eGo) Good news is: They now make bottles with the needle attached for refilling the eGo Cartomizers with the whistle tip. (still have to remove the mouthpiece, but that's no big deal with the right tool). VaporBomb.com has them now, and I'm sure the other vendors do too or will soon follow. Good news is: I forgot the rest of your questions and will spare you a long post. lol
DAYVAPE
I dislike the mega cartos for the eGo with a passion. Sure glad there are so many choices!

I am still on the hunt for a good newport for my better half, but I've been golden for a while. I'm pretty sure I'm still saving and even if I wasn't, this is worth it to not smoke. Did you check out wordup? Laurin has a huge selection of menthols. I'm still in the buy buy buy mode but I order about every 2 weeks and I have found that I am still spending less on the average every 2 weeks than I did weekly on cartons of analogs. Plus I don't have to stare at the last 2 cigs in my pack at 11pm and try to decide if I smoke one now and deal with 1 cig in the morning before work, or maybe half a cig now and 1 1/2 in the morning. No more worrying who gets the last cig or rushing out the door to stop before work. No more going out to buy analogs when I really want to just stay home and relax. And no more shame when I buy analogs wearing my scrubs and knowing the people in line behind me are tsk-tsking because I should know better. Only problem is I can smell the dogs better now, they need a bath. No more frantic candle lighting and air freshners to cover up the stink. Still cheaper but we can track the money spent easier so it seems like we are still spending a lot when we really aren't.

I am always on wordup for juices for my friends or pointing people over there. But they do not have much of a selection of 0mg.
