To Flavour Or Not To Flavour

All my research before proceeding with my first purchase has left me with one last MAJOR question! To flavour or not to flavour!! Puffing on my 20 a day habit - I find I do not seem to get flavour - just a hottish mouth and throat hit!! Both of which I do not like. So........ I hope to gradually wean the amount of nicotine staring at 24mg and decreasing at least monthly but there are sooooooooo many flavours out there and I do not have a sweet tooth! Are flavours necessary? Are tobacco flavours my best opinion? and/or what are 'soft' flavours I should try. :coffee:

What attomizer are you using? If you don't like TH, you may want to try a different attyomizer (302/801 or 901). Lower nic will also reduce TH. Also, you may want to try VG or a VG/PG mix as VG seems to give a smoother (less harsh) TH while also creating more vapor.

I use Vapor Talk Tobacco and a few DIY mixes that I've come up with, but don't get into all the different flavors. Most of what I vape is tobacco flavored.

After smoking for 34 years and then switching to vaping, I couldn't taste any of the flavors at all. None of them had any taste for me. Most still don't. But I kept vaping. It really didn't bother me too much. I admit that I wanted to be able to taste them and know what all the others were talking about, but I was still satisfied with vaping. I started adding flavorings to the pre-made liquids on my own and can now taste them just fine. For some reason though, I'm not that big on the flavors. I tend to keep coming back to just two flavors and switching between those. But, you don't have to vape a flavor at all. I've used just PG and VG and vaped that - at 0 nic - and that was even okay with me. Or, you can add just a few drops of flavor to that mix and have a slight taste, too. Until you wean yourself off of nic though, you can just find one flavor that works for you and use that. You don't have to have a whole bunch of different flavors. It's all up to you and what you like.

Hi, I was excited in the beginning to try various flavors of e-liquid. It just seemed like the thing to do. But as I near the four-month marker, that has become less of a desire. I, too, have one flavor (Dekang RY4 or VT Dulcis) that is my constant go-to vape, and I sporadically switch during the day with a choice of all of the other flavors I've purchased. Amazingly, I taste everything these days and I smoked for many, many years. I agree that VG will soften any TH. Everyone has a unique experience with flavors and I'm pretty sure you'll arrive at your destination in what suits you. Good luck and don't forget to have fun with it! :)

Stick with tobacco flavors (they are flavors too) until you get your sense of smell and taste back, then try some other flavors in small sample bottles. Most ill NOT be all day vape juice for you but you may find some you like as in between or spacer juice. Don't be surprised by then if you find some flavors you prefer over tobacco one's! This idea will seem impossible at this time however :)

I'm vaping Caramel Tobacco right now from Blue Mist Vaporing, with extra flavor added. The tobacco flavor at this mix is the least and the caramel is greater there by making it different then normal tobacco flavors, yet I happen to like it a lot right now. I also tried Belgian Waffles and was totally surprised I like it!

As for the nic level, there lies a great divide with many members here. I am of the opinion you should not start with any thing less then 24mg coming from analogs. From there you will know if you need to bump it up or if you can go down. If you can vape 24mg and not miss analogs, if no analog cravings your good to go and might even be able to drop down right away! No I am not a Doctor and this is not medical advice, but I have seen many smokers try electronic cigarettes for any where from a few days to a few weeks and give up and go back to smoking. The main reason always given? "It was like smoking air" or "it did not satisfy my cravings"

18mg juice is NOT equal to 18mg analog! Due to the fact we can not really be certain what the nic variation is from bottle to bottle but more importantly 1 cigarette from a pack of 18mg which is a Light IMHO, one cig will give you 1 mg of nic from burning tobacco and also 3000+ other additives. The nic transported in this manor and inhaled will get in to your blood a lot faster verses from a few drops from a bottle of juice or a cart labeled 18mgs. When you vape you are not inhaling smoke but a water mist, the concentration of nic won't be as high and also it will take longer for the nic to get in to the blood. It's more of a slower process, no immediate nic high. Make sense?

The good news is it is possible to not only get the exact amount of nic your body and mind is use to getting by bumping it up a few notches. I would suggest starting at 24mg. You may need to go up to 36mg like I had to before every thing was right. My starter kit came with 8mg and I was ready to go back to analogs the second day lol. I found some 16mg tried them and still no better. 18mg actually saved me as I found if I vape them non stop for hours I did manage to satisfy my nic craving. 24mg is ok, but 36mg, oh yes, thats what I miss! I'm vaping 32 mgs at this moment and it's ok too!

Just keep this in mind if you find vaping is not working for you. It is prolly the nic level. Once you find the right level your home free because if you do go back to analogs you will think they taste terrible and stink :)

Good luck!

Thank-you all for our replies. So this is where I think I am headed!!! Will purchase an eGO with extra parts such as extra atomizer and will try using tobacco flavours to start. As far as liquids go I think VG is my preference - 1 - 30ml of 36mg, one of 24mg and 18mg. That way I can determine my needed nic fix  I think I would probably use 2-3 ml a day? Does this sound right for daily use? Everyone is so helpful and mega thanks to all.
