Moving Up To Hv

I have been searching around for a good HV mod, so far I am thinking of going with a Variable Volt. So far I have read mixed reviews about the joker, the fistpack is no longer available (and way over my budget) and I don't have the skills to build it myself, and the other would be the buzz, but is not currently in stock, there is also a new one, the VP Turbo, but I could not find a review of it yet.

So I have to bother you guys with your advice (again), most of the reviews on the joker I have seen are from two months ago, so I wonder if anything has changed, is it still having the same issues it had, is anyone recently bought a Joker and how has it been treating you?.

I am planning to get the Joker and the DMV. I have only vaped 3.7v so far, I bought a 5 volt passtrough but I think it is not working the way it should, because I feel no difference from my other 3.7 passtrough.

Let me know guys please what do you think?

Thank you and best regards.

I have had my Joker AV for a couple of months now with no issues at all. I'm in love with it. I've had it set at 4.8 volts since the beginning and its performed great. I want to warn you though... that once you go HV, 3.7 just doesn't cut it anymore. :)

I've had my Joker AV for a couple of months now also and no issues. The Turbo only uses 300 mah batteries, so you won't get great life out of them. For that alone, if you go with vaprlife, I'd go with the Joker over the Turbo.

After doing tons and tons of research I went ahead an ordered a purple blemished buzz last night.

After weighing in the pros and cons of the Turbo, Joker, and Buzz the Buzz just seemed like the better choice IMO. The Turbo got weighed out pretty early and the main reason the buzz won was it had a drip well and you can't beat $85 bucks for a AV device. I have heard from a few people who ordered blemished buzzes that they couldn't even tell it was blemished until they spent 5-10 minutes staring at it going over every slight detail lol...but who knows mine could be wrecked. As far as looks go the buzz was the least pretty so I don't care if it is, I wanted something that will perform and IMO The Buzz was it for me.

I will do a full on review when it gets here next week :)

I have owned both and have been running variable/regulated voltage exclusively since June, I won't go back. I don't think you can go wrong with either the Buzz or the Joker, I prefer the Joker purely on size and aesthetic reasons and have not had any issues with either of the 2 Jokers I own. My Buzz was a fine device and I didn't have any problems with it either. I think as long as you go variable, you will have the most flexible and consistent experience available. (fist pack isnt variable, it uses 4 pre sets, the turbo has a real shallow battery capacity. The SaberTouch is apparantly going to be av but it looks like it is made from garden equipment. :)

For what it's worth... the Buzz I've had has treated me flawlessly since the day I got it months ago. No, it's not going to win a beauty pagent award, but I personally like the simplicity of the unit. I plan on pickin up a "scratched" one for a backup... if any are left.

If you get the Joker with an 801 fitting and use a 302 atty, it won't leak and you won't need a drip tray.

Thank you guys for your replies, I think I am going for the Joker, I will reply back on how it goes.

I am aware of the consequences of taking the plunge to the HV side, and I am really looking forward to do it (if everything goes well ^_^

Best regards to all, and thanks again for your help.

You absolutely made the right choice. I have both the Joker-AV and the Buzz, and the Buzz is my #2 unit, but don't ever ask me to part with it either. The Buzz is a fine piece of equipment, it's just not my favorite. The reason I would never part with it is that AV is the only way to go, and if anything ever happened to my Joker-AV the Buzz is the only other unit I have that would get me through that crisis.

These are the reasons that make my Joker-AV #1 and the Buzz #2 (not necessarily in order):

1. The Joker-AV is a better looking device.

2. The Joker-AV has a lighter weight and thinner body, which makes it much more comfortable in my hand.

3. I like the switch on the Joker-AV better than the one on the Buzz.

4. The Joker-AV has a larger and more visible LED.

I bought both units with an 801 fitting, because the 801 fitting makes it much more versatile.

I first ordered the Joker AV, even after reading some bad reviews on it and Vaprlife, but the Buzz was out of stock.

Unfortunately, the bad reviews were justified. I had a loose contact and it took them 6 days to get back to me with an answer, and a poor one at that.

Then, after much dikering, they said it would take them 5 days to turn a warranty repair around. 6 days to answer an email and then they expect me to be gullible enough to beleive 5 days for a repair! Of course, I had to pay the postage for something that was defective on arrival.

No, I wanted my money back. Well, there was going to be a 15% restocking fee. All I all, I was out roughly $35 between postage and restocking.

Cut my losses!

Ordered a Buzz, which has much bigger batteries. (3.7 v 800 mah vs 3.0v at a wretched 400 mah for the Joker). That is hardly better than the Little Sister which is 2/3 smaller or the larger Joye 510- both at 350 mAh.

Terrible company!

Tony
