owutaqt
Quit or Die! WAVERLY, Tenn., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Electronic cigarette sales and popularity continues to increase on a daily basis despite the US Food and Drug Administration's attempts to label the products as unsafe and untested for their intended purpose. Thousands of electronic cigarette reviews online dispute the stance of the FDA, many of them stating that the products have not only been tested, but by and large have been found to be less harmful than traditional cigarettes. The American Cancer Society recently stated in many words that they have a "quit or die" policy concerning the e cigarette versus tobacco cigarettes while bringing their own pre-written legislation before state lawmakers to outright ban the e cigarette from the market. This legislation makes no attempt to make it illegal to sell e cigarettes to minors, but would rather have it banned altogether to prevent adults from making an informed decision on their own. The ACS continues to push this quit or die agenda along with many other special interest health organizations that are directly funded by pharmaceutical companies to push their products above and beyond any other alternative on the market at the cost of American lives. Evidence is mounting as more and more physicians and health care practitioners are suggesting to smokers that are unable to quit to make the switch to e cigarettes as part of a harm reduction effort. Highly funded special interest groups tend to state, however, that quitting entirely is the only acceptable means of harm reduction. Unfortunately for American smokers, eliminating smoking alternatives like e cigarettes from the open market will force them to quit with "approved" methods or be destined to spend a fortune throughout their lives on a habit that is one of the most difficult on the planet to cease. "This is basically a 'die or spend money' situation that they're forcing people into and it's not right," says William Ellis of World of E Cigarettes. "They don't have a right to make the decision on how someone wants to stop or even continue smoking if that's what that person wants to do. They're not elected officials and they have no business writing legislation in secrecy and pushing it on our lawmakers to be crammed down our throats." I gave my Doctor a few BC's bcuz he was totally for people using e cigs over analogs, I love that regular family doctors are for the use of e cigs, he told me he is going to pass on the business cards I gave him to people who he thinks would be interested, I sure hope this e cig thing dosent get banned, There is like 14 or 15 states that have medical marijauna and the government is messing with our e cigs, it just boggles my mind how stupid our government is for messing with our healthier alternatives! Brian
I've seen a few articles like this put out by "World of E Cigarettes". Seaching the net, these articles show up on various news sites. I was looking into one from a few days ago "ACS Shuns Ecigs in favor of real thing" (below) and found that the story is being picked up from 24-7pressrelease.com, which appears to only have stories put out by businesses. Not sure what my point is, just a skeptical of the source... seems to be some type of advertising gimmick. Not saying it's a bad thing - it is geting info out there, but it being written and published by "World of E Cigarettes" to draw more traffic to their site. WAVERLY, Tenn., Sept. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Cancer Society continues to attack electronic cigarettes and falsely label them as dangerous and ineffective, while the number of people using the products is increasing by 20,000 to 30,000 a week. Despite the ACS's claims, e cigarette reviews by consumers are still flooding in all over the Internet that smokers who are switching to e cigarettes and e liquid are breathing, tasting, and sleeping better than they ever did while smoking traditional cigarettes. By penning their own legislation and bringing it before state lawmakers, the ACS and multiple other agencies are currently trying to make a case for the outright banning of the e cigarette on a state level nationwide while not actively attempting to have cigarettes restricted from retail stores where they are easily visible by youth. The ACS has made it clear in its presentation on state regulation of e cigarettes that they do not want safety regulations on the products; they simply want them banned as a whole. Regardless of the fact that statistics show that most smokers who quit "cold turkey" do not resume smoking and that 95% of nicotine replacement therapy (nicotine gums and patches) users only quit for a short period of time, the American Cancer Society refuses to state anything other than pharmaceutical company products are the "safe and effective" way to stop smoking. They also refuse to acknowledge that the majority of their operations funds comes from contributions from pharmaceutical companies. In a society that has always told smokers to "quit or die", people who use e cigarettes have finally found some relief and no longer feel ostracized by family and friends. The ACS and FDA pushing for the products to be pulled off the market, however, is fanning a fire that is growing by the day, as smokers who have switched to e cigarettes will be all but forced by the establishment to go back to their old ways. This means spending hundreds of dollars (in some cases, the equivalent of rent) on an addiction that is touted as one of the most difficult on the planet to overcome. E-smokers remain a growing population in the United States and worldwide, despite efforts by generously funded special interest groups to squash the only legitimate smoking alternative currently on the market. nana
I don't know what the source is, but it's a positive article and that is a good thing. We need some of that out there for others to read. I don't know how much good it does, but doesn't seem like it could hurt either.
