Firemanvape
So I wanted to see if my issues were common or not. To start I got a Joye eGo that I was just dripping with a blank cartridge for a tip, then I got an LR atty, Carto's (5 reg and 5 LR's), and a drip tip. Now that I have (had it just died!) an LR atty I can no longer use my standard atty's! I used to switch out between my 2 reg atty's and when I started using my LR the standards didn't do it for me anymore. I had issues with carto's but I think I just needed to give it some more time as they are working pretty well for me now. So anyways now I want to make a box mod and start vaping at 5v, should I just avoid it? I don't want my eGo to go to waste like my standard atty's did! Do you guys think the moment I get a 5v up and running I will turn my back on the eGo (based on my reaction of LR vs. standard atty's)? I'm a little worried. I think I'm going to go ahead and build one but am thinking maybe I should wait to use it until I have a couple and get them completely ready to take over vaping duties. Anyways let me know if this has happened to you or maybe you have some tips and tricks to bring the eGo up into 5v class.
Jolly
if you do 5v you're not going to use that ego, at all.
Christopher
The thing to remeber with LR atomizers is that they MUST stay moist all the time. Make sure you drip on that bad boy like crazy. They usally last quite a long time. I've had users report 2 months on a LR atty. (Which is crazy) So if you take care of the little guy, it will take care of you
benjamin1990
i would get a 5volt passthrough to start out! but idk. i use my homemade 5 volt passthrough ALOT more than i use my 3.7 volt box mod i made. i love them both but i LOVE LOVE my 5 volts. it is the best! Christopher
Even a cheap 5 volt PT is a good starter. Just make sure to get a direct PT and not one with a battery. (The PT's with the batteries run at 3.7)
JRVapes
I did the same thing with the ego, didn't think anything could be better so I bought like 8 of them, then I purchased a Joker (actually 2 of them) and the ego's have never been used since. Also, I used the LR on the ego and still not the same as HV.
Brian
After making the switch to 5/6v, I can not go back to 3.7.
Kragax
Yup, Im a HV convert myself. I was having some battery issues so I went back to my Vypr for a few hours and it was really differnt. I need another Joker for back up. I think the wife may be ready to start vaping so Ill get her started on the Vypr. Its a great unit just LV. nana
I go back and forth between my eGo with the LR atty and my SB PT at 5v. I also use my SB at 3.7v quite a bit. Just because I don't want to be hooked on 5v all the time. I know it would happen. Besides, my SB PT has to be plugged in and I can't only use it all the time, so that helps. When I need to be up about doing things, my eGo is a lot handier to carry around in a pocket.
bobthesalesclerk
I have been using my 5v pass through like crazy and still love my ego. Other than throat hit and a bit better taste I can't tell the difference between 5v and ego on LR attys. If you don't mind switching between perfect throat hit to alright throat hit you should be fine.
Uma
I prefer the eGo's flavor still, so I mainly use the eGo. When I need a heartier vapor, I use my SB/PT, but I really miss the flavor. I use my SB at 3.7 portable too for long trips outdoors (doing chores, etc) because it is a notch more vapor yet a notch less flavor... it''s a middle man lol. I don't worry about the button being pressed or accidentally losing it somewhere. (it's big enough I'll be able to find it!). I've pretty much stayed away from the LR attys... I tried one and ... good golly miss molly!... something that would spoil me rotten and there's no way I can afford to be THAT spoiled! The eGo is great without the LR and in order to keep appreciating it, I refrain from LR. (although I hope to stockpile up some LR's so that I always have some between orders... they're too unreliable for me at this point). Eventually, I hope to get my purple Joker... maybe Christmas next year. Right now too busy trying to stockpile 2yrs worth of ban. grrrr My advice? Stay away from the LR until you're completely discontent with even a fresh new eGo battery. As long as one is content... STAY that way!!
Firemanvape
Should I be stockpiling? Lol. I haven't even thought about it! Anyways I would love to go 5v but I think a PT would end up ruining me on the go. I think ill start with a 5v box and then pick up a PT for at home and in the car. Thanks for all the replies! DAYVAPE
If not "stockpiling"... maybe just a nice little "stash". I ordered a carton of 50 cartos today! It could honestly just all be bad for us when we wake up one morning! Sux to even think what might happen... Schizophretard
I own a Joker but I'm still addicted to my eGo. They should make a 5 volt eGo. That would be the best of both worlds.
Uma
They have the BabyJ in the works... the eGos big brother. Been in the works for quite awhile ... along with the Tesla Filter...
Firemanvape
Damn! My wife has given me enough grief already! That's ok though it would be nice to have a massive stash of everything I need anyways. I hate to ask these questions because I'm sure they've been answered but what do we think will be banned? I mean PG and VG will always be available, flavor probably won't be banned as it can be used for other things, I'm guessing attys and cartos will be banned but I'm wondering if connectors will be banned... ugh! Is anyone else just stockpiling nic, attys/cartos, and connectors? I think that's what I will do and just make a bunch of box mods.
Uma
Yep, you got it. Those who make their own mods are well ahead of the game, especially if they're also stocked up on attys, cartos, and nicotine. Hopefully someone will begin making attys full speed ahead. Carlos of Carlos Juice Box makes his own attys... so we know it's do-able. I've never seen "instructions" for it though that doesn't mean there aren't any. All the connectors and such can also be engineered in a good machine shop... but what a hassle unless you have an "in" with one. There might never be a ban. The FDA, biased senators, hate-crime fanatics, just might decide to take a hike and leave us be. But until the fight is won, we need to stock up what we can... and try to go nic free. (these pv's are great devices for allowing us to do so though, thank God).

MrsJaaxx
I think you should go with whatever you feel you would enjoy the most. If you find that you love 5v and don't wanna use the Ego anymore, trade or sell the Ego and get you more 5v stuff. I bet it would be pretty easy to sell. Or if you are able to afford to do so, maybe give the Ego to someone you know who wants to start vaping. Why would you desire to continue using a model that you do not like as well as another model (if it turns out that you like the 5v way better). Is it a sentimental thing? I think ill end up selling/donating my eGo once my box mods are up and running reliably. I mainly meant I wouldn't want to start using 5v and then have to go back to my eGo and hate it. FTJoe
Donate it please. One way to keep this stuff going in the right direction is grass roots movement. Find someone in need, or someone having an issue, send it, tell them to hold their thanks but make sure they help someone else out (or two) along the path. If they don't stick with it, that's fine, help someone else out in some other way. And no, I am not a socialist! ;-) On a funny note, my wife saw the FDA thing on the news this morning. First question was did I know about it, second question was can we make money off a ban. I love her! She has the heart of a tobacco executive, absolutely ruthless!!!
