Christopher Posted June 13, 2009 Posted June 13, 2009 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090611/ap_on_go_co/us_fda_tobacco The nation's largest tobacco manufacturer, Philip Morris, USA, has come out in support of the legislation. Its parent company, Altria Group, said in a statement that on balance, "the legislation is an important step forward to achieve the goal we share with others to provide federal regulation of tobacco products."
USASGT Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Wow.. so I guess THAT's why they had to pay millions of dollars to lawyers back in the day. Keeping the real ingredients from the government was actually meant to reach a "common goal". Now i get it...
InsteadECigs Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Christopher, Not sure if this is allowed (if not, just delete), but I just finished my blog post on the new tobacco legislation and what it means for the electronic cigarette and thought you might be interested.
Christopher Posted June 24, 2009 Author Posted June 24, 2009 Nope that's ok it's posted in the correct area I'll check it out
LaceyUnderall Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 It really is a shame that our legislators are so wrapped up in this "nicotine is addictive and therefor kills" philosophy. It isn't the nicotine. It is the combustion. Nicotine has actually had many studies done proving it can be quite helpful to many with mental disorders and also to help in cell growth. Oh well. Once the FDA realizes that when they limit the nicotine in cigarettes, this will cause the cigarette manufacturers to add more chemicals to their products in order for their customers to get the same type of buzz (which we have seen with Lights, Ultra Lights etc), maybe it will help them focus on items like e-cigarettes being the ultimate option for smokers and letting the ecig industry make itself truly known to US Smokers with an FDA stamp of approval.
