Kragax
Okay, I have made my mind up to purchase an AV Joker. I have heard how HV works so much better with cartos and standard attys, but I would like to know what the difference is between a 3.7 drip and a high voltage drip. Im not buying the joker just for the adjustability, I like the flat power curve. So tell me about your HV dripping experiences.
Jolly
i usually drip on 5v with a bridge-less atty. it's a lot like using a 3.7 only you end up having more th, taste, and feels warm. cartos work every well with 5v. i don't even use a carto on 3.7 unless i am letting the non-vapors out there try an ecig. Christopher
Well you have to drip A LOT More when vaping at high voltage. The nice thing about HV is the hit takes you back like someone just hit you with a bus. But the downside is it rips through the flavor faster than the PG. Because of this your always having to drip and wipe.

Burn
I have a ton of cartos. Does the airyness go away at higher voltages? TH is hit and miss for me at 3.7. The airyness (kudos for expanding the restrictive English language) varies from device to device, I have found. I can tell you that the sitting on the Joker does reduce it somewhat. It is so much better on the Joker that I have not touched a standard ATTY in weeks (at least 2) and probably will not use them much. One thing about dripping with a standard atty was occasionally, I would get a "volcano" effect, where VERY hot liquid would come up from the atty, through the drip tip onto my tongue/mouth. I do remove the bridges from my atties and this will happen if you have too much juice. I may just be mildly retarded and this doesnt happen to anyone else but it really pi$$ed me off. My fave setup now is: JokerAV @ 4.5V, Cartomizer with the lid popped off and a drip tip. little flooding (you can drip around 8 drops at a time), great flavor and excellent performance. I literally may never touch a standard ATTY again. I just ordered another case of cartomizers from Christopher this morning. oh yeah, Vaprlife now has the voltage reading units as well, they are < $20 and work very well. Burn
hmmmm maybe I need to go 5v so I can use the cartos I have!!! They aint worth a poot on 3.7! I found the same on 3.7V and already had a case (50) of them and wasnt sure what to do with them. now that I am running them on 4.5V, I just ordered another case as these are now my absolute favorite. Standard atties are very frustrating (cleaning, bad taste and I believe the quality standards has decreased this year) for me. I may never use one again. EXACTLY what I've been preaching around here!! 4.5 volts and cartos are unbeatable I tell ya!! How much is a carton of them?? He's out of stock it says now... bummer. Since I will be using nothing BUT cartos primarily, I might as well go that route. Edited August 12, 2010 by DAYVAPE
LoriHNC
I have 3.7v batteries and have used LR attys and have tried LR cartos which I like very much but can run a little too hot causing a burnt taste faster. I am about to try a medium res carto (2.5?) with my 3.7v and see if that holds flavor longer (thanks to a vape friend). I picked up my 2 amp AC usb yesterday for my 5v passthrough and OMG, a regular carto on 5v is awesome! I guess they will soak up alot of juice though at 5v huh. I guess my next question is what to get in 5v portable that isn't expensive and doesn't look like drug paraphernalia or isn't too big? A cute girly 5v, maybe with butterflies on it or flowers maybe. lol just joking

Here is a set up that I would (and currently am doing) do you can buy a joker kit from Vtalk store for 62.00 (use discount code) Then buy Vaprlife Maintenance plan which will upgrade the Joker ($28.00) total is now 90.00 and that includes batteries, a charger and a holster. If you have VTStore ship directly to VaprLife, you can save the $6 on shipping. $90 for a joker kit is a complete steal for AV (at today's prices) and it really is like having many different battery types in one. I ordered a second one today (third AV unit) because the price is so good. Oh yeah, it comes in magenta (purple in the manual, pink if your referring to Jeff's, color looks magenta to me)

Thats not too expensive for what it is and what it includes, but me is unemployed right now so until I save my pennies for something cool like that, I may have to pick up a fixed 5v battery and put all my inventory on it. I like the sound of that adjustable voltage though. You can use low res atty or carto on 3.7 then regular 510 atty or carto at 5v....very cool. Thanks again Car insurance payment or new PV....hmmm

Yes, you could conceivably (and I have) run a LR at 3.7v setting on an av device (not at anything much higher or the protection circuit kicks in). However, you wouldn't want to do that, IMHO, save your LR for your backup device and use your cartos/reg attys for the AV model. There really isnt a difference between LR and a regular at a higher voltage. In the end, we are talking about wattage output. Whether you do this by lowering the electrical resistance of the atomize or raising the voltage of the device, in the end all your doing is manipulating the wattage output. The AV would give you more flexibility to tweak it if you wish. Good luck, hope some employer comes to their senses soon and snaps you right up! Thanks for the link. A $1.50 each is great for how long they last for me. I switch out to a new one once everything starts brownin' up real good inside... even though it still works and actually doesn't taste bad. Often times that takes about a week, sometimes two, when switching between two the whole time. There is just nothing better than a freshly filled/clean carto though... if the dang thing vapes like it's supposed too. I seem to do quite a bit of "tweakin" with some of them. A large paper clip with an end folded out works wonders when you poke it through to create that air flow channel!! Kragax
I just stepped up to the Joker AV. Im really wanting to try cartos @ 4.5V. I just hope I can afford the juice if consumption goes up too high.
