How Hot Is Too Hot?

I vape a lot, I never leave my 510 alone, but sometimes the atty gets really hot, I can still touch it, I actually put my fingers over the hottest part to help it cool down, so it is not hot to the touch.

Is this normal?, am I shortening the attys life?, does it mean it's running out of liquid?, or that it has too much?.

I am using the original atomizers that came with my kit, on the cartridges I have a fluval foam filter mod, and I am putting around 8 drops (I could put more in there, but hate to waste liquid when flooding the atty) until I start loosing taste (I could put more in there, but hate to waste liquid when flooding the atty), or get the metalic flavor.

And another thing, the condensation that you sometimes get from the tip while dragging is normal?, I know is not e-juice, I tasted the e-juice before and it tastes kinda bad, what I am getting is just a little fluid with a little taste of the e-juice.

Let me know please what you think, any help will be appreciated.

As always, best regards to all.

These are all normal conditions I believe. Your atty will most definately get hot to the touch... there is just no way around that since it is the heating element of the device. Also, the wonderful condensation you are getting is normal too... especially if you are a vaping machine! There just isn't anywhere for it to "go" but in your mouth if you inhale too hard. You are ALWAYS better off keeping the atty too wet than too dry.

Wipe off the carts when you top off to keep from getting the condensation in the mouth.I usually keep two atties going at a time with different flavors in both and switch off.It keeps me from getting acutomed to the flavor and not being able to taste it as good and also lets the cool off a while.

Hi eruelas, hmmmm...depending upon how long you've been vaping (I'm days short of two months), you'll get used to all the idiosyncrasies of batteries, attys, ejuice, etc. I tend to wait a few long seconds between inhales, to let the atty cool off, you know, to not stress it out too much. It is just a little piece of wire and a wick in there. Because a 510 has such a short battery life, I keep two units at the ready and lots of kleenex and a paper towel near the computer. Imo there is a taste to the condensation that forms on the cartridge whether I use filler in a cartridge or direct dip. I agree that the taste of ejuice is well, let's say, potent. When I'm filling up I just wipe the moisture off. Can an atty get too hot, oh yes! It has been described on the forum I want to say in many languages. I've had my 510 go off in my jean pocket when I've leaned up against a counter or have packages on my lap when I'm traveling on the subway. Ouch, it's there to remind you! Perhaps if it's feasible for you, have three units ready and rotate them. That way you can vape to your hearts content and not go through attys. I'm not using my original attys at this point, but I believe there are methods to stretch them out. Have you tried cartomizers? Anywayz, good luck with all of this. There isn't a question in this forum that won't be answered.

Thanks Lily & mcquinn, I have only been vaping for 2 weeks, one with the 510s, but I try to at least try what has worked for the forum. Thanks for the info, and I will try the tips, I will let you knowhow it goes.
