Jonsul
Thinking between these two versions and wondering how long the battery life will be for each. Not the per charge life, the complete battery life till replacement. I want to know before so I can order in advance so a replacement comes as mine needs to be replaced. Thanks everyone ^-^
BirdDog
There is no definite answer to your question about extended battery life for the 901 vs 801. Batteries for all models can be finicky. Some could last for several months and some could fail from day one. It is just the nature of batteries. You never know when a battery will finally give out. I do not have any 901 batteries, but I do have 801 batteries. I have had them for about 6 months and they still hold a charge. I also have 510 batteries that are almost a year old and they appear to be on the way out. The last time I used them, the charge only lasted about 30 minutes. I hope this helps. mcquinn
That is the million dollar question, you have no way of knowing how long the batteries you buy have been sitting on someones shelf, and quality control on the batteries is not all that hot to start with. With adapters you can use the 901/KR808,510/510 carto's and 801 atties on the 801 batteries which is what I do .If you want ultimate battery life go for a mod type. They have thier drawbacks as well besides costing more up front.I have built 10440 and 18650 mods but I always end up going back to the DSE 801 batteries both auto and manual. The small momentary contact switches that are available do not work very good I have tried six different kinds and most of them were not that good ,you have to press hard and jiggle them to get contact. Some of the mods have mechanical switches which are a little better .
