Jolly
Was working on this a little bit a few hrs ago. The Mad Maggie! this is a mini maglite that takes 2 AA batteries. currently running two 14500 batteries in parallel, as to get double the battery life. a maglite is actually set up in a series configuration will turn two 14500s into a battery pack. (not done yet, thats for tomorrow) to do that we will use heavy duty packaging tape and aluminum foil. that way it will still fit into the tube with out extra work. (pics tomorrow) took out the spring in the bottom since that will not be needed. there are other applications you can use this for. with the rca you could cut a Female usb cable end and wire that to a RCA cord. with this wire you can power any portable device that has the option to plug into a computer to charge. say I'm on a long flight and want to watch movies via my zune. my 120gb zune lasts all of about 1hr 30mins of video time. with this plugged into it not only would i get more run time it will also charge the zune. most devices now days are usb chargeable, some being things we use a lot like cellphones, psp, ipod, zune, lol even an xbox 360 controller. if the device still takes a 3.7v battery and has another type of plug, make another to connect to it. pics: as you can see there will be a male RCA connection that will house a 510 adaptor i pulled from a dead battery. this RCA will also have a Tact switch installed tomorrow. i left the tact switch off the body of the battery case becasue 1.) i don't have room, 2.) it makes it so that any device can be added onto it if i need a constant power source. Now after all this is done i will have to devise a way to charge it. A dummy battery will be made and have a male rca plug that runs to the Mad Maggie from the regular charger i use for these batteries. I will post info on that tomorrow also. Jolly
i found out that the name Mad Maggie is already taken.. so i will have to figure another name here is a single AAA mod just like the MM this mod is much easier to do as all you have to do is shave down the (+) terminal and drop it into the tube. Brian
Can you explain how the RCA adapter works as far as a connection? I'm a little confused. Guess I need to get into my junk box and pull some out and investigate. I've got a flashlight just like that pulled apart, but never got around to doing anything with it. This may move the process along... Thanks! Edited July 9, 2010 by Brian
Jolly
got to drop a button inside the male rca like this. i am having issues getting the 510 battery connector in there with a button. there just isn't room so i am going to have my brother make me a new sleeve to toss on the rca adapter. Brian
Interesting idea. Using glue on the switch to keep it in place?
