StringDancer Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 (edited) While not focusing on e-cigs, this article reveals some rather damning information regarding our dear FDA and the corruption that fuels it: This is no exaggeration: The number of people killed by FDA-approved pharmaceuticals since 9/11 is equivalent to dropping a nuclear bomb on a major U.S. city. International terrorists could not even hope to cause the number of casualties in the United States that have been achieved by the drug companies working in conspiracy with the FDA. Source: http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_4842.cfm The FDA is no joke. It's a criminal conspiracy against Americans, and needs radical reform. Mention this the next time you write your representatives about e-cigs! EDIT: See also this article on the same topic: Whistleblower Accuses FDA of Corruption Edited May 15, 2009 by StringDancer
woodensaint Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Isn't anything new here. i wonder how manymeetings these guys have been taking with Big Tobacco. You can't prove a bribe these days but just meeting with these guys should be equal to wearing an guilty sign around your neck. The only reason Big Pharma is against it is they didn't think of it first. First they will ban the Chineese, then they will hand it all over to big Pharma and end up charging like 10 bucks a cart.

Christopher Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 Truly Unbelievable. I'm not the most healthy guy in the world, but there is one thing I won't touch and that's aspartame. NASTY stuff. Really bad. If I have a dietcoke I'll get headaches and usually get really irritated. I find Aspertame popping up in more and more products such as gum and for that matter pretty much sugar free anything.
woodensaint Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I would complain about aspartame but I'm already addicted to diet coke. Saccharine is a known carcinogen and still available under the trade name Sweet'n Low. We can get our lead painted toys but God forbid we get our nicotine replacement from China.
Christopher Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I wasn't aware that Saccharine is a known carcinogen, I'll have look that up. I was thought Sweet n' Low was on to something. Doesn't matter either way as I only use normal sugar. I try to look at it like this, if it wasn't food 50 years ago it probably isn't meant to be consumed.

I guess Saccharine doesn't cause cancer anymore. FDA removed propsed ban for good in 2000. I guess they got their paycheck. By the way Saccharine is became 50 years old two or three years ago.
