Just received my VP1 Friday, charged both batteries put them in one at a time {for testing} + side down tightened the stainless steel end cap (almost feels like its catching 3/4 down) push the button and nothing.... Completely loosen said cap, hold down button, slowly tighten cap until it hits the spot and the LED illuminates and it starts to sizzle. Has anyone else that uses this model have a similar issue? Thought it was the battery shorting out on the case but using a DVM, there is no continuity from the center of the contact to the outer side showing no shorting is occurring. As i typed this I almost wonder if tightening it all the way down is causing the contact spring to rest on the plastic wrapping of the battery and not the battery return side.

If it really feels like the threads are catching 3/4 of the way down then I'd suggest giving them a quick cleaning, maybe use something like NOALOX. I know that's generally intended for aluminum, but I'd imagine there is a stainless steel equivalent.

Thanks for the input,

Cleaned both mating surfaces, rolled the spring point down so it doesn't gouge the batt, did this with the atty off and on, the result doesn't differ, even with the screw 1/4 of the way in i'm still creating 360Mah and 3.9V. The only issue is i dont want to loose the cap if it backs off that 1/4 tightness. I know i could fix it with an added wire soldered to both the end cap and the barrel, im sure this would void the warranty so i am waiting on reply from Vaprlife on the next step.
