Brian
People are using the Tenergy RCR123A batteries (Lifpo4's) and I haven't heard of any issues. However, to avoid liability, they do not recommend it. As always - it's at your own risk. I have a BSB, but haven't tried 6V yet. While the batteries are protected, and are suppose to be safe, the unit itself does not have any safety features regarding the batteries. It is vented through the button, but if a battery were to go off, it could still be messy. Don't know that it would "blow up", but it would be very hot and spewing fire out any space it could find. There's probably nobody that can honestly say that it's perfectly safe as it seem to me there's always a chance that a battery can malfunction. However, the Lifpo4's are not suppose to do that. I'd really like to hear what Brandon has to say on this as I really don't know that much about batteries. Hey Brandon - where are ya man???
