nana
Hi Larry. I'm not expert by any means, but the empty cartridges I've purchased have had dry filler in them. I'd say if it's wet, it has e-liquid in it. All you have to do is take the filler out and you can direct drip on the atty. If you don't want to direct drip, you can take the filler out, rinse it out well, dry the filler with a paper towel, but it back in the cartridge and add your juice to the filler. You don't have to vape the liquid on the filler. Good luck. ddavelarsen
ddavelarsen
nana I was gonna try to say that and would have used too many words and just confused the issue. I mean it; you should have been captain of your debate team. Or a lawyer. Oh wait! You're a mom, now I get it!
FTJoe
nana is correct on all counts. An empty cart should have dry polyfill in it. If it is wet, you have liquid. Either rinse them out (and dry), drip or just go ahead and try them. So my question is, did you get the lipton tea bag filler? Looking back, I see you were thinking of getting them, I think for a beginner, they are the best option, easy to fill again, easy to make, just a great option. So if you didn't get them and you're not sure how, PM me with an address, and I can get a bunch to you by Monday probably. I have TONS (kind of mis-ordered off of Amazon). If you can't figure out how to PM, send a note to homerrulesall@yahoo.com. Junk account but I'll be checking for your email. Let me know, thanx. I just don't want you getting frustrated before you even really get going. nana
LarryFine
Thank you thank you thank you : ) for your messages. I really appreciate the help. I am going to watch the video I saw again to learn how to roll up and cut the Lipton tea bag wrapper/filler. It seemed to be a little bit exacting, so I will try it soon. I tried to direct drip, and the first time, it did not work. I re-chared the battery, and tried it again ... still no vapor. I changed to another atomizer, and then I did get some vapor production (but not nearly as thick as the pre-filled cartridges that I tried before ... the ones I received with the 510, that have nicotine in them). I had used these atomizers a few brief times before, but had soaked them in Coca-cola over night (and then stood thrm up to dry for 2-days on a paper towl) before trying the direct dripping. I tried to wipe the inside and the lip with tissue before using them, but they seemed pretty clean (no significant residue left on tissue). I wonder if my atomizers have already been used up. I really did not use them THAT much : ) I used up a couple cartridges with them that had liquid before the cleaning. Its kind of difficult to gauge the problem, because you have the battery issue (used up?), the atomizer issue (clean or used up?). I think that the direct dripping method is a little advanced for me right now, cause I didn't get it to work well. I recharged the battery, changed atomizers (had used the atomizer previously a couple times), and the vopor production wasn't that great. Oh, I was using the Tennessee Cured liquid (zero-nic) which I mentioned before (direct dripping). BTW ...this liquid tases really nice. Just not getting much vapor or throat hit. Not sure why. Any help or suggestions would be really appreciated from any one on the forum. I'm wondering if there is an advantage to using the tea bag filler (or poly fill cartridge) over the direct dripping method. Maybe its the liquid? Not sure, but I'll continue to experiment, and hopefully I can figure this out and get a good throat hit off the zero-nic liquid (either by direct dripping, or by dripping into poly-filled cartridges). FTJoe- You mentioned that you purchased Lipton tea bag fillers off Amazon... Why do you buy them that way? What exactly do you mean? They are just empty Lipton tea bag papers that you buy? I'm guessing that you mean you are buying boxes of Lipton tea bags off of Amazon... not sure what you mean when you say that you have Tons mis-ordered" off Amazon. Some questions: If you put 3-drops of e-liquid directly to the atomizer, how many puffs can you expect to get (assuming the atomizer is clean, and the battery is charged) ... and how many with a cartridge of poly-fill with drips of 8-10 drips into the filler? How can you tell if the lack of vapor is from a dead/dirty atomizer, or from your battery? Is there an advantage (far as vapor production/number of hits) using direct-dripping over dripping into the dry poly-fill crtridges? Thanks again, and yes, it is all a bit frustrating. However, I can see the pay-off to figuring this all out as it would definitely help me to get off analogs. -Larry : )
FTJoe
Yeah - I ordered a pack of 6 boxes with 20 tea bags each. I can't give them away fast enough and the wife does not like the tea.
FTJoe
When I dripped I would get 5-10 or so puffs off 3 drips. Was a pain so I use the PTB mod. By the way, I couldn't do all those fancy folds either, I cut mine in half, fold twice and roll it up. I can send a sample. With a full cart, tougher to tell how much to get, maybe about 3-5 cigs worth maybe? Only way to tell for sure is if you have good ones to play with and that sounds like that's not the case. Once you have a good batt and a good atty, you can see what the issue is with the others. I'm PMing you as I'd rather deal with the PM system here than that junk email address I gave, if you don't mind...Also, I'd stay away from the syrupy sodas to clean or at least rinse with water afterward.
