jmhester
I just got back from the doctor's office. My doc knows I vape (he even let's me vape in his office!). But today he ask me if I started smoking cigars. It was the stink from my wife smoking! Since she's still smoking, my sense of smell never came back right. I never realized how bad it smells to other people. Of course, he was really down on her smoking around me. I really wish I could convert her but I'm having zero luck. It's got to be her idea, know what I mean? Anyway, I just hate smelling like a smoker.
Vacker1229
I understand. I vape here at my office and sometimes I go down to the "pit" cuz i miss my smokin' buddies. One particular day when I get in the elevator, one guy came running in at the last moment and the ride was amazing I thought to myself "dude did you just exhale in here? the smell has thick and almost dirty". Don't get me wrong i still love the smell of a burning analog but the leftovers are miserably stinky phooey!!
SmokinHammer
Two things jump out at me here. #1 - Does your wife smoke cigars? #2 - Are you now under doctor's orders to stay away from her?

Brandon
I totally dig that. My wife is still smoking too (not in the house though) and I guess it's a good thing she's not the kissy-smoochy type b/c I just can't handle the leftover smoke-breath smell anymore. Mike
I don't mind the smell of tobacco but I feel embarased for people who smell like an ashtray. We all smelled this way at times but I've noticed so much until now. As for the smell of vapor, I had just one comment. I was vaping French Toast and my buddy in the room said "What's that? I smell something." After I told him what it was he said "Put that away, it's making me hungry!"

I would actually love it to smell more like an analog.

I've noticed smells from many juices but only at close quarters. Nothing that smells like anologs though. The French Toast I had did have the strongest second hand smell that I noticed. There is a distinct smell(and taste) of maple syrup. watch out for maple flavorings as many of these contain maple sugar which is no good for the atty. You know, every since I started vaping my son comes up to me all the time (he's 4, almost 5) and burries his face in my shirt and smells me. First few times I asked him what he was doing and he'd say "you smell good daddy". He NEVER did that when I smoked. My wife still smokes, so I can relate to what everyone is saying. So far it doens't bother me that much. However, she is starting to vape some now, so maybe we're getting somewehre.

Still working on my wife but I'm hoping for progress soon. I'm planning on getting a BB mod (will order it tomorrow I think), and after I get it, I'll hand over all my 510 batteries (5 of them) and a fistful of attys and carts and tell her "go to town on that stuff". But it has to be close quarters, vapor dissipates very quickly. It is nice to have your habit not impose on people, for sure. Last weekend my son was over and man! did he ever freakin reek. It was awful, I could hardly stand to sit next to him. That nasty analog smell is really bad. Every time I catch a whiff of it I'm embarrassed that I used to impose that on people. There were times I'd go huff one down quick before a meeting and come into the room surely smelling like ash. No one ever said anything but now I'm sure I know what they were thinking... Ugh. I haven't had the huevos to vape in a long meeting though. Just beforehand, sure. But not during, when 'decision makers' are sitting about. Good thing for nicorette gum in those instances. SmokinHammer
A good friend of mine, who's still smoking, always grabs my bottles of juice, asks what the flavors are, opens them up and smells them. Sometimes she's actually asked me to take a puff of one and blow the vapor in her face so she can get a better whiff. I've never been vaping near anyone who's turned to say, " What's that smell?" Vacker1229
I have met some who purposely put their face into the vapor looking for smoke smell and "oooh it smells sweet" as most of my flavors are on the sweeter side. This is a good thing as it turns a possible negative response into a "no problem" response. Which I think is great, cuz then they can tell others that there is no odor. Uma
My family sure notices the sweet flavors, and loves it. Bananna, Pina Colada, Cappachino, etc... in close quarters smells wonderful. Today I vaped strawberry cheescake and the entire rv smelled great lol. It scared me though, when I thought about summer bees. I might save the sweeter ones for winter doldrums. Uma
hmmm, I wonder if a photo (wallpaper on the pc?) of the fushia joker with the green diamond led and the phraze "wouldn't you rather be smoking something beautiful?" work. OR maybe a photo of a deep purple Chuck with the gorgeous butterflies or unicorn or... Or better yet... maybe if you just purchase a pretty one, then leave it on the dresser or desk and share that it's "too pretty to use, I don't think I want it. Maybe I'll send it back or give it away."..... Good luck to you guys. Keep the faith... Edited March 4, 2010 by Uma
