510 Getting Too Dry?

hey guys, I have a 510 atty thats like 2 weeks old, and I pulled the wick out about a week ago and only direct drip. But I've noticed that about 2 drops only lasts like 3 hits before the vapor reduces and tastes burnt. Why is this atty getting dry so quick?

Im gunna use it now and show you what im talking about.

The atty is dry right now,

i put in 2 drops (about 20% vg)

1) got a good hit

2) another good hit

3) eh- okay hit

4) barely any vape and got that "dry" taste

now i need to put in more!

is this normal? maybe its cuz i removed the wick? or maybe I should put in like 3 or 4 drops at a time? also, keep in mind im using a passthru that works of a 10440 360mah battery. thanks for your help!

I'm not sure what brand of juice you are using but this is just one of the down sides to direct dripping. I will normally drip 2 drops inside my atomzizer and I'll get about 5 good hits. So yes I would say this is pretty normal :)

sounds pretty normal.

Here is my current solution....with or without the wick.

Blue Filler

4 days ago I finally got the hang of the blue cart filler from strictly e-juice.

fill an empty cart with 10-12 drops of liquid. push the blue foam into the cart to saturate, add a couple more drop to fill the cart with liquid and then pull the blue foam up to the top of the cart (like regular filler).

The blue foam acts to keep the liquid from draining out too fast, allows just enough liquid through to keep the atty moist and vapeable. since I started using this--top off less, drip less. e-cig stored LED up or LED down does not seem to make a difference. significant decrease in leakage and flooding.

I still drip in between when I am vaping more frequently--but find with blue filler/liquid in the cart the atty doesn't dry out and I get a consistent vape.

Interesting. What blue foam are you using and where do you get it from?

  • 2 weeks later...

does the bluefoam keep the flavor better also? Just started filling my own carts and am noticing flavor isn't the same as when I drip. I mean its not even the same ballpark its like muted x3. Gonna try teabag mog and this mod to see if that helps till I can get a stronger pv.
