luck
i'm trying to figure out what is going on with my 510 adapter on my VP/PT, sometimes it work's but when it doesnt the PT won't even light up until i diconnect the atty. Im not a big 510 fan but am curious if anyone knows what to fix. I have never had a problem with 801 atty's and am still loving the PT. thank's
Brian
I've heard that you can push the center pole down on the PT (and other VP units) if you screw down the adapter to tight. I have the same problem with my VP2, but with a new adapter I ordered it's not as bad. I've only been using a 302 atty on my PT, so haven't had that issue with it. Chris has said you can use a paper clip to gently pull the center pole up just a little. If it becomes an big issue, you can send it in for repair. Mark
Hey Luck, Sounds like the adapter might be have a short in it if the light on the pt won't even come on.
Christopher
If the light turns off then your tightening the adapter way to much. The adapter doesn't have to screw all the way down, if you do try to screw it all the way down you risk push the center poll. This will damage the unit. luck
i just noticed in the part of the adapter that the atty screw's to that i am missing the tiny white o-ring that was there. oh well i guess i am done with 510 (no loss for me) 801 still work's great so no need for repair on the VP/PT p.s. i got the adapter from a supplier other than my PT
Christopher
ah well that could explain it, the VP adapter is created for the PT. I wouldn't use the other adapter as it will void your PT warranty.
