Hi, new here and a new vapor. Heavy cigarette smoker for almost 28 years and just made the change.

I’m hoping to chat with others on here who understand the big change from cigarettes to vape . I found this forum after a month of looking for answers to specific questions on other sites , which I never could find the answers.

I am not sure if I’m supposed to ask questions in an introductory post, and if not maybe a kind soul can guide me to the right section?

Thanks for having me, I look forward to possibly helping others someday as well.

Asking questions in an introductory post is fine. Glad you found us, we're always happy to help others to make the journey off of cigarettes to vaping. The forum is quieter these days than it used to be, but we still have good folks ready to jump in when needed. I hope you find the answers you're looking for here.

Hi! I was curious about vaping myself as I had picked up smoking again after quitting for several years. I didn’t smoke cigarettes very long or much when vaping came on the scene. I speak from my own experience when I say this. It’s important to be very careful not to overdo it. It’s really easy to vape too much because now you no longer have the cigarette smell to worry about plus the fact you can sneak a vape just about anywhere without no one being the wiser unless you use highly scented e liquid. I used the salts myself 35m and sometimes 50 if the 35 wasn’t available. The 50 is real harsh in my opinion. So I noticed I was getting pretty heavy on the vape usage and occasionally I would cough up congested stuff straight from my lungs. When I backed off it went away. I have vaped for about a year at this point.  I have read a few stories online where people have switched to vaping and died a couple years later because their lungs filled with fluid.  Is it a side effect of vaping too much? I would say that’s possible.

Hi. While I'm not a doctor, I would think that the fluids in the lungs came from something else like a viral or bacterial infection. You can't always trust what you see on the internet, this included, although I try to give my two cents with nothing but truth from my own experience(s), and/or from those who have my trust. For what it's worth I started vaping to get off of cigarettes in May, 2012.

That said, were you aware that 25 mg of nic (salt or otherwise), is the same as smoking a pack of Marlboro reds? Unless you were a heavy smoker going through a pack and a half a day, 35 mg is too much. 50 mg is a definite no. Using this much nic, it'll be that much harder to quit - if that's your goal.
