carguy50 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 My wife works in a casino here in Canada and today some jerk went in with his ecig. The management got some complaints and didn't know what it was so they asked him to put it away. Apparently this guy was an a$$ and refused and kept telling them that it was legal. their answer was that he can use it outside and barred him from the casino BOTTOM LINE IS Most people don't know what the hell we have in our mouths so please get permission first
FTJoe Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Most people don't know what the hell we have in our mouths so please get permission first So true - unfortunately that knucklehead also had a tongue in his mouth...
Christopher Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Yup so true. And because it's so new taking the rude approach isn't the best way, knowledge and patience is what will help this product become accepted. If it's related to smoking it's automatically going to have a negative view.
ddavelarsen Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 While I'm not in the 'ask first' contingent, I am a very polite person. If anyone anywhere asked me to put my PV away I'd do it with pleasure, and hope for an opportunity to explain what it is.
Schizophretard Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Someone should explain to that guy that there is a big difference between public property and private property that is open to the public. It doesn't matter if it is legal. The Casino is private property and has authority over it's property.
Lee Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I've never understood people who thrive on conflict. It seems like they just go looking for someone to get into a confrontation with. I've always gone out of my way to avoid conflict. My experience has always proved the old adage that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. It's kind of like this old guy who brings his dog to the off-leash park where I take my dog. He lets his dog run free in the parking lot despite numerous signs to keep them on the leash until inside the fenced area of the dog park. People have asked him to stop doing it because park administration has threatened to close the park to everyone if people continue to let there dogs run in the parking lot. This old fart doesn't get it, and puts everyone at risk. And he doesn't care. In fact, he told the last person who asked him not to do that to "go **** themselves" because he'll do whatever he likes. It's just an example of how selfish our society is in general.

See if you can talk a copy or park guy into strolling on by around the time he shows up. See if he keeps doing it after a few summonses. You could always threaten him yourself to write the summons, but then it's conflict again. Sorry for the O/T.
