Battery Chargers Interchangeable?

Recommended Posts

Just curious to know if the standard battery chargers that come with the kits 501, 901 and 801 are all the same charger. If so, I should be able to order an 801 batt, atty and carts and use the charger that came with my 510 kit to run the 801-right? I am wanting to try the other pen style PVs and thought it would be more affordable if I could get around ordering the entire starting kits. jen

Hi Jen, Sorry to tell you that the chargers are not interchangeable. The threads on the 510, 901 & 801 are all different. :(

You do however have the option of ordering adapters. This would allow you to use other atty's on your 510 batt.

Thanks mcquinn. I went and looked at those. I would have a concern that after time you may not get a good connection. But, its fairly new so I'll have to wait and see what people think about it. I guess it might be worth a try at $7.99.

As I posted in another thread, I learned from the people at Janty that you CAN charge the eGo batteries with a 510 usb charger, it will just take a lot longer. Had to find this out the hard way, as the charger that came with my eGo was defective. Janty USA has been great about it, and have already sent the replacement. But in the meantime, it has been nice to be able to use my eGo, although it takes somewhere around seven hours to charge the batteries on the 510 usb.

Just a cautionary note: This does NOT work the other way round. If you try to charge a 510 battery with a Janty eGo charger, the battery would likely explode.

There are some usb chargers that use a rubber grommet instead of brass threads that ar supposed to charge most batteries.I saw one at Vapor Kings.

Have one... they suck. I mean, it works, but as other's have stated.... the connection is the touchy part. You have to get it JUST RIGHT and make dang sure you don't touch it. And even then it can still become detached partially as to not charge the battery. I don't recommend them... but that's just my 2 cents.
