I'm Sure It's Been Asked....

Hi Dayvape, you're gonna get a lot of differing opinions on this one. I would suggest that you try both and pick the one you like. I prefer the 801.

Yeah, I've used the 801 with the LB atty's from Arno.

I'm just wondering if there are "tougher" atty's out there for either the 801 or 510 that will stand the test of time.

I guess I will have to play around .

It's true. We all have our favorites. I've been in love with the 510 atty. I use it on my VP2 and didn't think the LB 801 was nearly as good on it. Then I got the VP/PT and I like the LB 801 on it better than the 510.

Interesting! Thanks Nana for the input.

As you know... the more info I have, the better off I'll be!

PEACE.

I had always been using a 510 on my 3.7v. When I ordered my VP/PT I got some Joye 302's bacause I heard so much about uging them on the 5v. Oddly, I've been using my PT for over a week with the 302 and like it so much that I haven't tried the 510 on it yet. I suspect the throat hit will be awsome with the 510... we'll see.

I'm looking forward to that too Brian. The responses here don't give a clear answer, do they? :)

Edit: What I meant to say is, it really must be a personal preference! And the only way to know is to try them both...

Sorry man! That was my befogged brain, not your communication. :)

I'm still waiting for my 510s so I can try them on both the VP2 and VP PT. Then you guys will finally get the Real Facts, the Final Opinion, on which is the better atty. I'm sure you're waiting with baited breath, right? :D

I know what I think of the 801s - they're inconsistent, even among the same batches. And I've never, so far as I can tell, gotten the same kind twice, even subsequent orders from the same supplier. I have maybe one 801 that always works, gives good flavor and vapor, doesn't leak...and that's the only one I've ever had and probably will ever have. It was one of the three I got from Arno when he first got them in after that long wait. The later ones are nowhere near as nice. Sigh.

One of the things I'm anticipating the most about vaping is when US manufacturers start making attys. Then we'll see consistency and decent life from them. Of course, an atty will cost $40... :D

For true 5 volt devices under load (meaning the voltage is 5 volts with the atomizers actually attached) then the 801 is the only way to get IMO. The 510 will still work fine, heck I still use the 510 on 5 volt devices more to shorten the length than anything, but the 510 will need LOTS of liquid. Expect the life to be shortened by about 30%. It just starts to taste funny over time. (My experience anyway) The 510 atomizer has very low resistance so it already runs quite hot.

I don't really care for 5 volts ,it makes the liquid taste burnt if you don't keep pouring it in ,and then it starts leaking out every where.I get my best vape at 3.7 with or without a cart on a 302.

Man I just can't get enough vapor at 3.7V - if I could find one I'd use a nuclear power source. But from Chris' comment I think I need to switch out my atty, it's starting to taste a little sharp. I sure don't mind burning through juice if that's what it takes to get loads of vape and decent flavor. Next up: 6V.

I really gotta say - the last couple days have been very difficult for me. Not enough vapor, not enough nicotine. It's almost time for a hot, harsh, nic-laden non-filter analog...or 60. I'm about to pull my hair out! Which would really hurt, so I'm holding off on that for now.

Sorry to hear that. I switched back to the 510 from the Janty Stick (801) because the attys were so inconsistent. Had to switch to the 510s I had sitting around for my wife when my 801 attys just seemed clogged. JS sits in my computer bag for some reason, unused for quite a while, it is retired unless I find someone who wants it.

Thanks for all the comments thus far. And INCONSISTANT is a fact! I've never had two 801's act the same it doesn't seem. Tempermental little bastards. I'm still awaiting the 2nd arrival of my VPPT. I have not tried any 510 atty's on it either... as I've really liked it with the 801's. Otherwise, I haven't picked up my 801 since I've had my 510... who knew this little guy was that much better!! (all of you knew... and I listened)

I will probably just use the 801's for the most part on my VPPT when it gets here. Otherwise, I will have 18 atty's sitting in the box with nothing to do with themselves.

Dang man - I feel for ya. Hang in there - I hope it passes.
