Dajamster Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I just went to Arno's site but couldn't find manual batteries for the 801. Did I read somewhere recently that the Joye510 batteries were compatible with 801s, or was that just wishful thinking?
BirdDog Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I would just send Arno and email. He will answer back really fast.
ddavelarsen Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 If size is not a consideration, you might want to consider some of the mods for extended battery life. Just my .02. I've been using a VP2 with 801s, with great satisfaction. Good luck and keep us posted!

Now that I've had a 5 hr nap, I think it might have been a 30-something that was compatible with a 510... Always did have a crummy memory for numbers. Haven't memorized a single telephone number since I got my first cell phone that stored numbers. Before that, I kept an address book. In the meantime, I have sent Arno an email and hope to hear from him or his family soon. At least the unit I have is still working & recharging just fine. Just being paranoid every time I have to set it down at an angle. Thanks All for the Info! P.S. Just had a thought: has anyone ever posted a list of compatibilities? Say this model from X will fit these from Y,Z, etc.? If not, is there some knowledgeable helpful, and somewhat obsessive/compulsive person out there who will take up the challenge? *G* Edited January 14, 2010 by Dajamster
StevenP Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I'm not sure if your willing to go with another supplier, but Rob at Vaporkings has 801 manual buttons batteries there. I've ordered quite a lot from him and he's helped out a lot, you can always find some coupon codes from him in the supporting suppliers section. http://www.vaporkings.com/DSE801_Batteries_and_Atomizers_s/47.htm
ddavelarsen Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Just in terms of battery mods, there are tons of them - enough to drive you batty trying to pick one. Here are a couple I have off the top of my head, but believe me, there's just a boat load of em. 3.7V VP2 setup for 510 Protege GG Slim Screwdriver 5V+ Chuck Silver Bullet There are many, many more but I just got tired of seeing so much stuff I wanted. There are always adaptors for your preferred atty too, so don't let that put you off anything. If I may make yet another suggestion, I've just had my first 5V experience and I don't think I'll ever be fully satisfied with anything less again. 3.7V will still work and that's what I have for walking around, but I'm now on a mission: 5V+ mod. That's just all there is to it. But my wife says it's her turn for some new stuff, so that's on hold for a while now. Sigh.

ddavelarsen Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 So you got your VP/PT finally! heh! Yeah! I dig it, nothing like it before. I am converted.
mcquinn Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Arno must be sold out for now I bought one a couple of weeks ago.Vapor Kings has them the manual 801 batteries.
Dajamster Posted January 15, 2010 Author Posted January 15, 2010 I placed an order with Wordup today. They had everything I wanted in stock. And I wanted to try some of their liquids anyway. Will still be sending Arno some business in the future. He & his family have done right by me thus far. I can tell it's a small business, so having stuff in stock all the time can be difficult. Next time I order, it won't be as time sensitive. I'm saving up to hatch the 'evil plot' of converting all my passengers to vape. I work night shift. Lots of bar runs and people who want to smoke. Since they passed the law to ban smoking in public places, smoking in a taxi is technically illegal. (though no local cop is likely to pull a cab over for people smoking in it, they like us too much) Thinking of getting some 'loaner units' with extra mouthpieces that I can switch out, take them home, sterilize them & use them the next night. Will probably go with the Joye510s for that project.

You might also think how you can give them something to take with them, like a business card sized card with a couple helpful links on it - vaportalk.com for example. I made a CD with a bunch of info on it but it's kind of overwhelming - I think a simple message and link would be more effective. Go man!

Yeah, I read on another post that the VT guys send cards w/ the website addy on them when ya order from their store. So, yet another excuse to try out their selection... *EG*
ddavelarsen Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Yeah, I got a couple VT cards with my order and am carrying them around with me now too.

Just recieved 3 801 atty's from another place because of price and 2 didn't work. I thought I read somewhere here at VT that the 302 is the same as the 801. Is this true? What's the diff?

Yes the Joye 302 and the DSE 801 ( different manufacturers) have the same threads, therefore they are interchangeable. I prefer the 302 atty because the atomizer bridge is wider and I think it produces better vapor. Edited January 25, 2010 by jeffb

nana Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Same for me. The 302s are great on the VP/PT. The low bridge 801s are good, too. I have some of each.
