VapOrDie Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I've heard quite a few different people say different things about how to get a good throat hit or lots of vapor etc. Some people like to hit it like a hookah, most fill their mouth then inhale. Some say long and slow is better blah blah blah you get my point. Well I've tried several different ways and have found that while slow and long does give great throat hit and lots of vapor it makes my 510 feel like a soldering iron! But if I start slow and long then about half way draw faster as I let off the batt. I get huge vapor, great throat hit and my atty stays nice and cool.... So what works best for you? Or do you have a different method for each E-Cig you use? How about different kinds/flavor juices?
Brian Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I use the long slow drag and continue for a second or two after I release teh button. I really didn't like how hot the atty got on the regular 510 batteries I got with my starter kit. Fortunately, I upgraded to a Spade pretty quick, then a VP2 and and VP/PT. I've found that the atty doesn't get nearly as not on any of the mods as it did on the original batteries. Don't know why that is, but I'm very happy about it.
Christopher Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 The atomizer will dissipate heat much better on a Spade or custom mod (depending on what it's made out of) than a regular Joye 510 battery. Your 510 atomizer shouldn't be getting THAT hot. I used one for a couple of month and although it did heat up, it never got so hot to the touch I couldn't use it. Make sure you have plenty of liquid on the atomizer to help keep it cool and make sure to take a couple second break in between hits to avoid overheating.
VaPOOrizer Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Well no doubt, a 510, nice and slow draw on a 5v VPPT will make a hole in your throat and that my friends is spec-damn-tacula! However, I do prefer the LB 801 over the 510 because I get more flavour. Hey, has anyone noticed that the hotter an atty gets the worse the vape? Its like you have to give it a five minute break when it is hotter than hell before it will return to giving you the premier throat hit........
VaPOOrizer Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Ya read my mind POO !!! Lmao Vari Well which part did 'POO' read right? LOL

I've noticed the reduced vapor and flavor with increased temp too. Since I haven't tried a 510 yet all I can say is that due to its greater mass, the 801 probably does dissipate heat better. I'm getting ready to try a 510 soon and will finally be able to earn an actual opinion on this issue.
