GetYourVapeOn👄💨
Hey All, I'm happy I found this forum! My husband and I decided 4 days ago to completely quit smoking cigs and try vaping. So far so good not one cigarette yayyy. So we made this decision last minute and late in the evening. Just smoked our last cigarettes and went looking for vaporizers. All the shops were closed and so we had to settle for a vapur smrtG stick and vapur vanilla (12mg) juice. I friggin' loved it. My hubby...not so much. He needed something stronger. The following day he went to a vape shop and found the joyetech ego aio. I liked it so I went the following day and bought the same one. We also purchased several flavours of dvine juices. I now have a problem. I am enjoying the throat hit but I am getting a scratchy feeling in my throat that I am NOT liking 😠. I like a pretty big inhale but this throat scratch is driving me frickin' crazy. I did not get this at all with the cheapo vapur stick. I also liked the curved mouthpiece on the vapur. Will other mouthpieces fit on the ego? Thanks Edited February 2, 2017 by GetYourVapeOn👄💨
Bebop
You may need to drop the nicotine down a little. Nicotine can be a little harsh with higher power devices. If you are used to 12 you may find 6 is enough. Someone here that has the aio can tell you about the drip tip (mouthpiece) Cloud-9
Tam
Vaping dehydrates you. Did you increase your water intake? You'll want to drink more water. A LOT more water at first so you can flush out all the toxins from the cigarettes (not juice, coffee, tea or soda -- go with water only). That may help as well. Check your juice to see what the PG/VG levels are (if they list it). Higher PG will give you harsher throat hit, higher VG will smooth is out but too high and it could give you dry hits when chain vaping due to the juice being too thick for the wick to saturate between draws. GetYourVapeOn👄💨
The mix on the dvine juices is 70/30 VG/PG. I've also discovered I definitely would like to get a tighter draw if possible. Right now I'm using the coil that came with it. Would a different mouthpiece or coil give me a tighter draw. I do have the airflow control at 90.
Tam
It's your airflow that will make the draw tighter although a smaller bore drip tip will also help. Try closing the airflow a little until you get the draw you like. The 30/70 is a good mix for flavor and vapor, it's not too thick for your coil to wick properly, imo. The Cleito takes a 510 connection so any drip tip with the 510 will work just fine.
GetYourVapeOn👄💨
From what I've read I have the airflow on the ego set as tight as it will go. Will a 1.0 or 1.5 coil make a difference on the draw (compared to the 0.6 that came with it)?
Tam
No, a different coil wouldn't make a tighter draw. Some tanks are very airy and more conducive to what's called direct to lung type of inhaling while most new vapers prefer mouth to lung (inhale into the mouth first, then inhale into lungs) like they did with their cigarettes. Those who use MTL (mouth to lung) type of draw typically like a tighter draw. A different tank that's known for tighter draws or MTL style of vaping might work better for you. What might work with the drip tip you currently have on your tank is to change how you put your mouth on the mouthpiece. Don't put your mouth around the tip, but a little more like if you take a sip from a bottle of soda. That can restrict airflow without making you look funny. GetYourVapeOn👄💨
UPDATE!!!! Thanks for the suggestions. I bought a curved mouthpiece and some 6mg juice. SUCCESS throat irritation is gone. BTW I picked up the raspberry flaked and dohnutz by kloudheadz. Both are delicious on their own but mixed 50/50....AMAZING!
