Nope! I thought the same thing would happen, but i got it off with zero issues.

Back when I was using the original RDA on a Dripbox I would hold the barrel with one hand, and use my other thumb to push on the coil posts, it came right off.

Now I use a Aspire Quad-Flex RDA on the dripbox, and all works well, Tried a Tsunami RDA, but that didn't work that well because I kept squeezing the bottle too much, and juice would come out the air intake holes. 

Looking forward to using trying a earth globe on it, but don't know if Chris is going to stock them.

I already have a solution with my subdrip cover that is stuck since i buy it. I just use small flat screw driver to pull up the cover. Give a little distance between the drip coil base and body. Don't forget to put any thing  on top of the kangertech to avoid from any scratches.
