Aspire to Dovpo

Recommended Posts

This morning I realized my Aspire ESP mod was falling apart. The threads came apart from the box, and it quit working.

And as if it was some form of fate, I walked outside and dropped the entire thing on the concrete by accident and shattered my Aspire Atlantis tank.

I ran to the nearest vape store, which isn't my usual and bought a new mod, very hesitantly.

I ended up with a Dovpo Executive 5.0

I with my Aspire setup, I used to be able to vape at 8w and 12mg juice. I've got 12mg juice in this Dovepo, and I'm having to vape it at 20w to get the same feeling as my Aspire. This Dovepo also has some kind of TC and its set at 450 degrees.

I'm not a new vapor, I quit smoking in 2010, and I have an old account on this forum somewhere. But the technology of these things has grown a LOT since I used 510 cartomizers and/or a drip tip.

Can anyone tell me about this Dovpo as compared to my Aspire, and why I'm vaping this one at 20w instead of 8w?

What kind of tank are you using? In the tank, what resistance is your coil? A higher resistance coil would require more power to heat the juice.

The Dovpo Harvest tank that came with it. It has a .2 ohm nickle coil in it I think.

Is it using a temp control coil? (it should have come with both a standard coil and a temp control coil) you have to match the settings of the mod to the coil.

Also, in temp control, the mod automatically adjusts the wattage. You set the wattage to 15 or 20 but then adjust the temp up or down.  450 might be too low. Try 480

The Harvest tank comes with two coils. One of them is kanthal and the other is nickel. Which one is in your tank?

It's the .2 ohm nickle coil that was already assembled. The other coil is an RBA thats all in pieces, which I have absolutely no desire to tinker with.

LOL! Okay, here's the summary. Cajun is using the .2 ohm nickel coil but is in wattage mode (I think from the picture that was posted). The mod should be in TC mode to work best with the nickel coil, correct?  :)

@Tam:wallbash: cripes I typed out a beautiful reponse.  You should have seen it. Haha

Cajun.

If it's good flavor and vapor, you're good to go. If it's lacking, bump up the temp, not the wattage.

Just remember if you put a different tank on it you may have to switch modes to power mode instead of temp control mode.  (some modern mods switch automatically)

I'm just used to vaping at 8w. This temperature control thing is new to me.

I just dont want to be overdosing on nicotine, is all.

The temp control is automatically bumping it down in wattage which you can't see while you're vaping. If you could watch the screen while you were hitting it you would see it jumping down in watts.

My guess is, it's about the same as you are used to. As long as the taste and vapor are about the same you have no worries.  If you get a little light headed, bump the wayts down to 12 or 15.
