MudDrum Posted July 19, 2015 Share Posted July 19, 2015 Watching the British Open at the "Old Course", reminds me of walking with the gallery in 1990 when Nick Faldo won.What I learned playing the courses in the UK the 4 years I lived there:- No practice swings around or near the tee box- You carry your bag or used a pull cart. ( no golf carts )- You wear a collared shirt and long pants. ( shorts are out )- My local had very long par 4's which would be par 5's here, and it started ( hole 1 ) as a par 3, and a postage size green.- an umbrella and neoprene gloves are standard equipment for your bag.- learn the art of 'bump and run' for link courses.- You can ( as a non-member ) play the "Old Course".
