Tam Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Rocky Mountain Oysters are pretty good if you make them right. I used to bartend at a restaurant. Whenever it was that time of the year, some of the customers would bring them in, the cooks would batter and deep fry them and put them out for everyone to enjoy.
Compenstine Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 LOL I was born out there, but I don't think I could eat one just knowing what they are now.
Tam Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 They were good but it's a lot like veal. Knowing that they're baby calves, I can't eat that anymore. I used to have a calf as a pet so... I don't know why it doesn't bother me to eat beef though. jasonculp 1
Compenstine Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 I'm the same way about veal, I saw a video of how they treat the calves and just thought it was cruel. Haven't had veal since. Beef is different. they don't keep them in boxes to insure the meat is tender just for the one cut of meat. I'm a carnivore so eating a thick juicy steak is always on the menu.
