What's the best place you've ever vaped?

Recommended Posts

I've been vaping for a year and a half now, but back then places where already starting to bring the ban in for smoking indoors... so if you were smoking before they start panicking about smoking indoors... wheres the best places you've vaped that you can't smoke in? Cinema? Plane?

And did you get 'Told off' for it?

I was booked on Air Canada to fly from Montreal to Hartford last year and walked out to the plane with about 5 other people.  I guess it's not a very popular route.  The plane! The plane!  Two engines with propellers and and entry ladder that only required 2 steps.  An amazon of a woman escorted us to our seats, I think there were 6 single seats on each side, and she picked the two to sit by the one exit, (for normal egress and emergency combined).  Then after she saw that we were all seated, she said keep your seatbelts on at all times during the flight which will be about 45 minutes.  Then she asked if everyone was all set to go because she wouldn't be there for us because she now had to fly the plane.  Multitasking at its finest.  So............. as long as she was busy flying the plane, and the copilot hadn't even made an appearance, if there even was one, it seemed that no one would notice, so I vaped the whole way.  It was completely under the radar :)

honestly, to someone says that is "illegal" to vape in public places you are in you right to vape wherever you want.... which I think is the point of this thread.

Actually it is not exactly your right to vape where you want. It is most definitely illegal to vape on about every US airline and I am seeing "No E-Cig" signs popping up everywhere. People that think they can vape anywher without ramifications willl continue to cause restrictions to be enhanced. I vape everywhere I can but if in question I ask. I do not have a bigger pet peeve, other than maybe cloud contests, than vapers especially subohm cloud blowers thinking they can fog up everywhere they go. In restaurants I excuse myself to the bathroom if I need a few draws unless it is openly allowed. I vape all day and low my employees to do the same at the businesses I run, in my car, home and almost anywher outside regardless but in stores, restaurants and other indoor public places I try to be discreet.

A modicum of discretion will go a long way to help instead of hurt our cause.

It is nothing wrong with vaping, studies have already proven that the "vapour" have zero passive effect on other people..in other words "passive vaping" doesn't exist. Feeling like a nutty boy every time you vape won't "help our cause".

I tried to find an impartial article for those that are interested;

I know the studies and agree but being an *** and vaping wherever you want with no regard for others is not putting vaping into the most favorable light. So you just blow a cloud when sitting at a table at Chilis or Applebys? What about the grocery? These are the types of places I am talking about and in many areas vaping indoors has already become banned just like cigarettes. Not saying it is right but it is a fact we vapers have to live with and being completely thoughtless to those around you because we know it is relatively harmless doesn't go a long way toward educating people or advancing our cause.

I never feel like a nutty boy when I vape I just try to do it in a respectful and classy way.

Second hand vapor may be harmless but it still can be annoying and irritating to others. I sure as hell don't want to be eating my dinner in a restaurant and have to smell some asswipes Tutti Fruity vapor.

Yeah if it was Hydra Bones that would be different :lol:

I feel the same about strong perfumes, specially when I trying to enjoy my food.... but you will never hear anyone trying to ban "perfumes" in public places.

I agree about strong perfumes and colognes.  I find very few things as offensive as someone who feels they need to "bathe" in their perfume or cologne.  However, perfumes and colognes don't emit large clouds of vapor and give the appearance of smoking; they only emit (sometimes) unwelcome scents.  Whether second hand vape is harmless or not, I believe there is a certain degree of courtesy due to the general public, especially in light of all the bad press vaping gets.  It isn't about feeling like a "nutty boy" every time you vape in public, it's about common sense.  Huge clouds and a general "I don't give a darn" attitude about public perception will only serve to strengthen the anti-vaping platform.

I guess my point is that a lot of people hates vaping because they hate smoking, and I refuse to believe that is so many ignorant people in the world... Isn't a "rebel" thing, it is a "frustrated" feeling.

When I first started vaping, I vaped everywhere I could because falling back to analogs was not an option for me, and I could get away with it with my ego and KPT2 - easy to hide and   be a ninja about it.

As I discovered that lung hits and a more fuller vape works best for me, I do not have the need to vape as often. I vape in public where it is socially responsible without hiding it - no indoor vaping whatsoever except at home, office, or hotel rooms.

Establishments that are Vape friendly will need to up their game and be mindful of everyone. Designated areas to vape and the like. There is a line as vapers and places that allow vaping have to walk or they will loose business. If someone were to come into a place I had and was chucking clouds in a non designated area, I would either ask them to go to the Fog Room or, they would have to not Vape while in the area they were in.

We are fighting an up hill battle in some ways and I think people who vape should be mindful of the fact that not everyone wants to be around it.

Actually, YES, several places have banned perfumes and even strongly scented soaps due to asthmatic reactions that can be brought-on by exposure to their employees.  I've been in several businesses, hospitals, and even the local health-department with signs asking that you do not enter if you just bathed in your cologne/perfume.  And, it is within their rights as business owners to make such requests of their patrons.  Just like those that ban smoking, vaping, or "no shoes, no shirt, no service"... I support their rights.

Comp is right, we're fighting uphill, both ways, with our loose-leaf notebooks, in the snow... and those 1 or 2% that think it is their "right" to cloud-up anywhere they please are the same few that will cause all other vapers to be treated worse than the smokers... pariahs of the socially-acceptable and just-society!  Those clouding-up the grocery stores, shopping malls, and aisles of the local Wal-mart will be the only people our politicians think of when they ban and tax the C R A P out of all vaping-related gear!  So, be considerate of others, and be wary of your surroundings when you vape... The "nannies" are watching... always...

Dude, I only can say one thing.....I will hate living in America, the USA doesn't looks that great hearing all this comments. Perfume ban on public places ?..what next ? pink clothing?

PS; Company policies is a different thing, I always respect those when I see the signs "properly" mark with no-e cigarettes allowed.

I too go outside with the smokers.  I go to the smokers lounge at airports, or discretely to the toilet stall and hold my vape/breath until it's gone or nearly gone.  Upping the pg/vg ratio gets me better throat hit and less vapour for those occasions.

My favorite place I sat down and vaped at has to be atop Fort Rock in Central Oregon. One of the most beautiful places. I left behind my two climbing partners and took off to a peak by myself for a quick vape. Sat for maybe 5 min or so, and looked out on nothing but flat farm land. Gorgeous.

What gets me riled is when someone sees you vaping and they say they smell smoke. Makes me want to give them a nose adjustment, but I don't I just flip them off.

I actually never let that one go... every time some says; you shouldn't be "smoking" here, I stop VAPING, and give them a little lecture about the difference between cigarettes and vaporizers.

Did you know that a pair of sandals were found at cow cave which is very near Fort Rock that are over 10,000 years old.

I have not that happened to me vaping but it did when I was smoking. I was smoking outside a store waiting for my gf - about 6-7 parking stalls away from the main entrance and downwind. A car pulls up directly in front of the store and a bunch of teens hop out.  2 walks towards me coughing mockingly all the way until they are in front of me. I was about done any way so I just flicked my cig but I really wanted to stub the butt in her mouth. lol

But that was nothing compared to my encounter with one self-righteous vegan (wannabe) militant a few years back who had the audacity to walk to our table and lecture us about eating meat is inhumane and something about methane and the environment lol. All this while she was rocking some designer leather pumps and handbag. haha
But that is life I suppose. There are always a small group of people who think the entire world revolves around them... and only them, and all the rest who are doing things differently from them are just flat out wrong, and they make it their life's purpose to bring  others according to their "standards" - Don Quixote-esque.

The general attitude from people is to hate the " Smoker " as a person, not the cigarette or the tobacco company like in the old days... people don't even understand how hard is to quit smoking... or they don't care....I tried a million things to try to quit smoking, and vaping is the only thing that truly works.

Reminds me of the militant femi-nazi that came to our back table in a restaurant about 25-yrs ago.  My wife was breastfeeding our newborn son, completely covered and discreet, and I doubt more than 4 people in the restaurant even knew we were IN that booth.  Anyway, she came over and started ranting about how shameful it was to expose a breast like that, and she should do such wicked things in the bathroom, where it belongs, because "real people" were trying to eat a civilized meal.

I stood up, walked over to her table, and picked up her plate... started walking... she screamed at me because I had dared to touch her plate, and demanded to know what I was doing...   I turned to her and politely said (in front of the whole restaurant)  "I'm taking your plate to the women's restroom. If my son has to eat his meal in there, it will be good enough for you too, right?"

The manager stopped her before she could hit me, and asked her (and her timid/whipped husband) to leave, immediately.  We, on the other-hand, received our meal for free, and were welcomed back :)
