Afuente858 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I was in my living room and I smell something burning. I found that my mechanical mod (apollo clone) had started up. I rush to the sink an saw my RDA coils glowing so I took off my RDA ASAP (BTW my vape was still firing with no button on). Luckily I got my vape deattached in time before any fire started. My questions are how can I prevent this in the future. How common is this. And other information I need to know.
MudDrum Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 This is a direct connect top cap without a delrin insulator. Also, no locking ring. The combination of a Hybrid connection and no locking ring, makes this a modthat needs extra care in how it is handled. Afuente858 1
cesar Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Best thing is to don't mod batteries... Manufacturers are getting very good at building them, and honestly they are better at it.
Afuente858 Posted June 21, 2015 Author Posted June 21, 2015 Alright thank you. And yes it is a direct connect . I think when I carry my vape I'm going to carry my battery in a separate pocket. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it.
Earthling789 Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Carry the battery or batteries (if you're packing a spare) in a proper, plastic box. D O N O T carry them loose in your pocket. You will run the chance of shorting them out across spare change, or your keys, etc. and that could cause catastrophic results in your pocket! Safety First! Afuente858 1
Rixter Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Best thing is to don't mod batteries... Manufacturers are getting very good at building them, and honestly they are better at it. It is just called a "mod"...it doesn't mean it has been modified in any way.
cesar Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 It is just called a "mod"...it doesn't mean it has been modified in any way.Oh...as you can see I still learning about vaping, I assumed that "mod" meant "modified". Me bad.... Rixter 1
FXRich Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Don't feel bad, when I first heard the term dripping I thought it meant a leaky tank. cesar and Rixter 2
