gag8tor Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Just finished this baby. Checks out at 1.1 ohms on the MVP. Should be pretty safe. This is my first build as the guy at the shop where I bought the Freakshow helped me build my first one. Gonna load her up with some Cosmic Charlie's Banana Brulee and see what we're working with. jasonculp, HOOKER and Jeffb 3
Tug Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Good job! it looks really good and clean, you'll be a coil building machine in no time lol :-)
Tug Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 BTW that Cosmic Charlie's juice sounds amazing, what does it taste like?is it a candy banana flavor or a natural?
gag8tor Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 Thanks Tug. Cotton seemed a little tight at first but it's doing pretty good. Imagine a good Creme Brulee with caramelized banana sugar. Pretty good stuff.
Tug Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Thanks Tug. Cotton seemed a little tight at first but it's doing pretty good. Imagine a good Creme Brulee with caramelized banana sugar. Pretty good stuff. And how much does a bottle of that run?
gag8tor Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 12 bucks at my B&M. I think it's a 20 ml bottle.
Tug Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 12 bucks at my B&M. I think it's a 20 ml bottle.sounds awesome, do they sell online?
gag8tor Posted March 14, 2015 Author Posted March 14, 2015 My bad it's a 15 ml bottle. My B&M doesn't sell online but there's a few places that do. I think I just saw The Vapory Shop has it on sale for $9.99
vaping_jake Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 looks good, did you run the cotton along the entire basin?
Bushwick Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) You should definitely get a dedicated resistance meter. The ones on the MVP's aren't super reliable. Build looks good for your first one, though! Gratz! Edited March 15, 2015 by Bushwick
gag8tor Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 Thanks Bushwick. Probably just gonna get a new digital multi-meter. I'm not really sure about the accuracy of the dedicated resistance meters either. You can get 2 decent multi-meters for the price of one of those.
vaping_jake Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 i agree gator, i even see people use their box mods to measure the resistance. totaly not sure about accuracy especial at those resistance levels.
gag8tor Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 I do know that the MVP won't fire below 1ohm so I feel pretty safe with it for now and resistance goes up on coils as you use them. For now if I can successfully build to 1ohm I'm pretty good. When the guy at the B&M helped me build my first coil we checked the resistance on a meter, his mod and my mod and it was the same on all 3.
HOOKER Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 with 3 identical measurements I'd call all 3 devises on spot... btw, nice build...
shen_long86 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 (edited) I bought an eleaf ohm meter when i bought my rebuilding supplies and it is pretty spot on readings...i use this espescially if i am building coils to use in my mutation on my ipv mini, because i have found that the ipv is wonky...in other words the readings go up and down constantly. But that coil for your first build looks clean and spot on gag8tor...keep it up buddy and it will just get easier as you go. Edited March 18, 2015 by shen_long86
gag8tor Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 I'll probably pick one up this weekend. They're about 22 dollars at a B&M I went to the other day. Can't wait until this coil burns out and I can try a dual build or maybe I should just go ahead and get a new atty.
shen_long86 Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Good to hear gag8tor...and you could try a dual coil in your rda before it burns out if you want. I am constantly trying new builds, although i prefer dual macro coils in either of my rda's.
vaping_jake Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 These guys claim made in the usa, 3 digit accuracy for 22 bucks or so. Now i dont own one, but was shown to me via a friend who claims it is spot on. i think they claim 0.018 accuracy. again i have not seen data sheets, reviews etc etc. Just FYI http://www.shop.usaohmmeters.com/
