New To Vaping, And The Forum

I have been vaping for two weeks now, I am using the Joye Dura C-510 and so far it is working well.

At first I was having trouble with it, and was disappointed,

I didn't realize that there would be a "breaking in" period, but once that my 510 was broken in I am having no problems at all.

I bought a batt and an atty from a different supplier and the batt looks different on the inside.

The batt from Fresh Smoking on the inside is flat, the batt from a different supplier has a raised nodule in the middle with a hole in the center,

definitely two different batts, can anyone tell me if either one is generic?

I notice that so far I have not seen a post, or a review of the supplier called 'Fresh Smoking', they are out of New Jersey.

After researching the web for vaping items, I find that there prices are very good, but most importantly the customer service is absolutely awesome.

For my next ecig I was thinking of getting a pen style,

I am currently looking at the 801, however, Fresh Smoking carries a pen called the FS Emperor 201,

if anyone is familiar with this ecig please give some feedback, as I really cannot find too much info on it,

the 801 has a vast amount of info, some positive, some neg.

I also am using Johnson Creek liquid and so far I find it to be very good, clear and tasty.

The customer service at J.C. was very good also.

J.C. also included with each flavor an eye dropper, and a small dropper vial which I thought was a nice touch.

I have been smoking analogs for over 45 years, and since vaping, I have not touched an analog in the two week period.

I still have four packs of analogs and have no desire to smoke again, as I just love this vaping thing.

Any feedback on the FS Emperor 201 would be appreciated as I am trying to decide on the 201, or the 801 for my next ecig.

Thanks in advance,

Hawk

Welcome to the VT forum, Deko! Congratulations on giving up the analogs! Sounds to me like you've done your research and have most of this stuff figured out. I don't have any answers for you, (I'm pretty new to vaping myself) but I'm sure you'll get some soon.

Hi Deko, welcome to the forum ! Well, I went to freshsmoking.com and took a gander. Now, I am NOT the expert here, so take my opinion for what its worth. But, I do know this, All e cigs are made in China, shipped to the U.S., where suppliers are able to brand them with thier own name for re sale. So, while you might purchase a "Emporer" from one supplier, another one may call the SAME e cig the " Pharoe". From what I saw on the website, these are common e cigs with different names applied to them. The prices look very reasonable, and if you are happy with your last purchase, I wouldnt hesitate to keep them as a supplier. As for the different models, again Im no expert. I have a 510, and thats it. You might try researching other sites to find the different names for the penstyle you are looking for, or just hang around here, Im sure Chris will come on and explain this much better than I can. Good Luck and see you around the forums !

Welcome to the forum, Deko.

I smoked for 34 years and gave up the cigarettes just as easily as you did. Much to my surprise. I've been vaping for 2 months and I will not - ever - go back to smoking. No matter what. I thought I loved smoking, but that was nothing compared to this. I really do love vaping.

Since I'm fairly new to this, I'm by no means an expert, but thought I'd let you know what's worked for me. I had the 801 before getting my 510 and in my opinion it doesn't compare at all. I love the 510 and even though the 801 worked for me in the beginning, I couldn't go back to it. I have the VP2 and am using my 510 atty on it now and it's so much better than it was with the 801. This week I ordered some of the low bridge 801 atty's to use with the VP2 because I've heard so much good about them. I'm anxious to find out for myself. I don't know if the low bridge atty's would be better on the regular batteries or not, but I'm sure someone here can tell you.

Like I said, I'm not the expert, but I'm afraid you might be disappointed if you go to the 801. But that's just my opinion.

Congrats. Make sure you have backups. If your charger stopped working or a battery went dead, would you be okay or back on analogues? Not that that's a big deal if you're still doing nicotine but wait until you drag on a real cig again, gross. If their customer service is good ask them what the 201 really is (assuming it's really something else). I doubt it's unique to them but if it was, would you want to be stuck with a single provider?

First off welcome to the forum! And second congrats on your journey into vaping, once the 510 is broken in, it's a great unit. The battery life however is a little low. This is normal but either way it's a great starter model. Nice choice.

I bought a batt and an atty from a different supplier and the batt looks different on the inside.

There are 2 versions of the 510 batteries on the market the Joye version (which is what you should use) and the SLB version which is sort of a knock off, it's having some problems at the moment but I'm sure they will work things out in the future. Without looking at the battery it's a little hard to tell. The best way to know is to just ask the supplier, if they are honest, they will tell you whether it's Joye or SLB.

I notice that so far I have not seen a post, or a review of the supplier called 'Fresh Smoking', they are out of New Jersey.

After researching the web for vaping items, I find that there prices are very good, but most importantly the customer service is absolutely awesome.

There are many suppliers popping up and it's hard to keep up with all of them. Personally I've never heard of them and know nothing about them. Glad everything is working out for you though.

For my next ecig I was thinking of getting a pen style,

The "emperor" is just a pretty name for a M version of the Penstyle E Cigarette. It's created by a company called Smoore. I personally am not a big fan of the M series models but some would argue it.

I have been smoking analogs for over 45 years, and since vaping, I have not touched an analog in the two week period.

I still have four packs of analogs and have no desire to smoke again, as I just love this vaping thing.

Keep it up! :D

Any feedback on the FS Emperor 201 would be appreciated as I am trying to decide on the 201, or the 801 for my next ecig.

Again the Emperor is just an M201 version of the Penstyle, there is also the DSE801 and J302 all of which are the same thing just created by different manufactures. A bit like ford Chevy Toyota etc. They all use wheels ;)

The thing to note about the Penstyle is that when people talk about the 801/Penstyle atomizers on the forum they are usually talking about it on a custom ecig mod. Although the penstyle atomizer is good, the batteries are not that great. One issues is that fact that they are automatic batteries which tend to have problems, especially when you start direct dripping or start filling your own cartridges. You mentioned that you are using Johnson Creek Juice so I'm guessing this is something you are already doing. Most of us all use manual batteries and that's because you'll notice they are sealed shut. The auto batteries have a hole in them so that you can take a drag from them like a normal cigarette. Although that's great, over time, the liquid will enter the battery and ultimately stop working. Most suppliers will admit to this.

I would look into something like a custom mod. There are lots of them on the market and a quick ask on the forums and I'm sure the members would love to give some suggestions.

Again welcome to Vapor Talk, you've got questions we've got answers! (uh oh here come the lawyers )

Welcome and congrats! You'll find lots of friendly advice, tips and opinions here. I think I may be as addicted to this forum as I now am to vaping. I started just this past week with a Joye 510 and I'm loving to. Got a Spade too. Sounds like you're off to a great start.

Christopher,

I hope that I am doing this reply thing right, as believe it or not this is the first forum I've ever been on.

And when I went to reply to your reply to me, your entire post is here and I'm just not sure what to do yet?

So I will just scroll your message down and reply, if it goofs I apologize, but as I said I am not familiar with forums.

I also bought the PCC so batt life is not an issue with the 510 for me,

I just have to have a learning curve on the cart filling thing, I will probably kill a couple of atty's in the process.

I also got some 901 tips from J.C. that fit perfectly in the 510, and I like the 910 cart because it has the two flat areas instead of the rounded tip that came with the 510.

The only problem is I keep finding myself twisting the 910 cart to line up with the switch, and I have to try and stop doing that as I think I will loosen up the wick on the atty if I keep doing that.

Its funny you mention the hole in the batt for the auto, as that is exactly what I have in the batt I received from the second supplier for my 510.

I know it's not an auto because it has the manual switch.

Let me see if I can give a picture with words on the second batt I received:

It looks like a regular 'A cell batt' that you would get for a toy or something you know with the raised portion that sits in the middle of the + side,

the difference is that this 510 batt has a hole in the middle of that raised area, as opposed to a normal 'A batt' not having the hole.

Whereas the batt I received from my 510 starter kit looks like the neg.side of an 'A batt'. (I'm of course talking about the section you can see when you unscrew the att from the batt)

I will ask Fresh Smoking to see which batt they have, then I may just have to assume that the other suppliers batt is the second type.

Thanks and hope I did this correctly, I guess I'll find out in a few seconds.

Thanks to everyone for all your replies also as they were all very helpful, I was also surprised at the number of replies that came so quickly.

Deko

as believe it or not this is the first forum I've ever been on.

It's rumored that Chris sprinkles fairydust over the internet to draw us in as there a quite a few of us here who have never posted in a forum before (including myself). :)

I've taken a liking to direct dripping and haven't used any carts yet. You may want to look into that (some posts here about it).

Welcome to the Vapor Talk Forum, I like you am new to posting on forums. This forum is different in attitude to the members and that is why I like it here so much. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions, there are a lot of people here who can give you solid advice concerning your eCigs.

The 510 is a great starter eCig, but I can see that you are getting ready to move up to something better. I went from where you are to a VP2 battery mod using an 801 Low Bridge or Short Bridge atomizer. The problem I had with the smaller units before the VP2 was that the battery life was too short and I had to leave the office armed to the teeth with batteries if i was going to be out all day. The VP2 solved that for me because the batteries last between 8 to 9 hours between charges and the batteries charge in about 3 hours. Then I discovered the 801 Low Bridge attys, Chris will be carrying them in the VaporTalk Store and Arno at AwesomeVapor.com carries them also. They are hard to find so when you do locate some buy as many as you can. The Spade unit is threaded for a 510 atomizer, which is a good atomizer and the ones that you get with the spade are the best you can get. If you like the 510 atty, the spade will give you much longer battery life even if you were using the "Mega" batteries with your 510.

Again, welcome to the Vapor Talk Forum, were here to help, just ask.

Hey Deko... WELCOME to the VTF ! I, like you and many of us here have never done the "Forum" thing .... Be careful, as posting is almost as addicting as the nic. But thats a good thing... We have a blast here. And you will be amazed at the information you'll find here.

Like smokingman said, if your looking for another unit I would definitely look into a mod... You will end up there anyway so I say save the bucks and get right to it ! I have a box mod but will be doing the "Spade" soon which you can get right here (Vapor Talk Store).

Check out the FAQ videos here at the forum for tips and tricks including "Direct dripping" which most end up doing as well.

Good luck and ask when you need to....

Again, welcome to the VT fam !!!

I've already done that a few times, right now I like carts, that may change.

Probably I'll keep switching off between dripping, and carts until I really know which I like best,

however, as of right now it is using carts.

Thanks for letting me know though.

Hey, I think I figured out how to do this replying....cool!

Don't worry about the posting. I've been doing this forum thing about 2 months now and I'm still learning about it. I've made my fair share of mistakes and will probably continue to make them for awhile. But in the mean time, I'm having a lot of fun being part of the forum, I'm learning a lot, and I feel like I'm making some friends. I hope it's the same for you. Until then, just laugh at your mistakes. (because several other people might laugh at them, too.)
