keenan
OK guys. when it rains it pours. Yesterday, my wife went to the E.R. again, for the last week she hasnt been able to eat or drink, sore throat, etc. etc.... turns out she has some kind of blockage and theyll be doing surgery tomorrow. REALLY, its not that serious ( at least thats the impression Im getting). So, Im gonna jump the gun here, cause I KNOW how great you all are, and thank you for your warm wishes before you even give them. BUT, this post is about while I was in the room with her. I vaped away like a flue blocked chiminy for the last 4 hours, and I GUESS they must be used to it, cause nobody even LOOKED at me funny. A couple of times, as I was letting out a billowing cloud of vapor, a nurse walked by and just smiled and said hello, not even a raised eyebrow. When the Dr. came in to consult, I kept vaping away. Nothing. Not even a question. How friggin COOL is that !! I dont know if Im happy that it was so well recieved, or dissapointed that I didnt get to explain it to everyone. Now, my wife still smokes, she didnt take to vaping like I did. She DOES on a rare occasion use my old Blu for half a day, then goes back to smoking. ( Gradually, I really think she WILL vape eventually, so Im not pushing it ). So when the nurse came in to re do her I.V., AS she was doing it I reached over and laid the Blu pack RIGHT next to my wife so she could vape if she wanted to, AND THE NURSE DIDNT EVEN FLINCH !!! I just dont know what to say. It was awesome !. So, Im home right now getting a few things for her, Ill be going back in an hour or so. I doubt Ill be on VT much today, but Ill keep you all updated when possible. I really feel good , almost like we have the medical community on our side. THATS a big plus as far as Im concerned. Talk to you guys later.
Christopher
That awesome! I think when in the hospital it would be a good idea to use a 510 for example and not a custom mod. Especially because most people seem to recognize what it is. I'm pretty sure if you walked in there with a VP2 it would raise a few eyebrows. Your wife will be in our thoughts during her surgery, small or not. Let me know if there is anything I can do
VaPOOrizer
Hey, I hope everything turns out ok for your wife and I hope she has a speedy recovery!! That is cool that they didn't even question you vaping and I wouldn't complain about that. I work in a small town and you know how word gets around fast, right?!?! I was sitting in the drive-thru of a very good restaurant one day and I was waiting on my food, vaping away on my VP2. The lady gives me my food and I roll out. The next day, one of the other workers told me that she said I was smoking dope in the drive thru lane! Needless to say, my blood was boiling . She is messing with my money since word gets around so fast and I work in a drug free environment. I emailed the owner of the joint to let him know how I really felt and directed him to Vaprlife.com to "Educate his workers". That was yesterday and haven't heard anything back yet... Christopher
Ah that sucks, see this is another reason when I'm heading to a bar I will normally take my 510 or Spade because it doesn't look as strange. People fear what they do not know. Either way your welcome to give him the Vapor Talk Hotline number and I'll speak with him
nana
@Keenan - You're welcome for the warm wishes, even before I can give them. And I do give them. You and your wife will be in my thoughts and prayers today and tomorrow. I'm sure we will all miss your wonderful posts and we'll be looking forward to reading them again soon. Take care and update us when you can.
stubear62
Keenan, My best wishes for your wife. I know it can be hard but you looked on the bright side cause no one cared what you were doing. Maybe it was that there was no tobacco smell. Maybe they didn't know what to say. either way, VAPE on. Again, best wishes for your wife!

jmhester
Keenan, good luck to you and your wife. It's stressful when the one you love is hurting. I actually started vaping when my wife went into the hospital. Our prayers are with you and your wife.

ddavelarsen
Keenan, like everyone else I want to wish your wife and you all the best. Hang in there. My prayers and good vibes are coming your way. I'm really pleased that the medical folks seem to be taking to vaping like they are. I've had similar experiences. Yesterday we took my wife to the Dr and I was vaping away in the waiting room and the consult room while the Dr was doing his thing, and no one said a word. I was rather pleased. I'm not a confrontational sort - in fact, I'm rather uncommunicative - so I'm not thrilled with the idea of explaining what I'm doing to anyone, but I'm also going to act like I have every right to vape wherever and whenever I please. Seems to be working for me so far. Again, all best to you both.
VegasVapor
Sorry to hear about your wife keenan. I'll pray for you guys for a speedy recovery. You have some balls though trying to vape in a hospital. That's something I wouldn't dare do, but that's just me. :P
variven
Oh man Keenan I hope everything goes perfectly for her! Travis798
As with everyone else here I want to echo the best wishes to your wife. That said, every doctor that I have talked to, or someone else that vapes has talked to that I know of, knows exactly what e-cigs are and are very vocal in their approval of them. It's a life saving device, and medical professionals know it!. I'm sure they would much rather see you vaping right beside your wife in a hospital than in a smoke area spreading some more tar around your lungs.
