I ran across these and thought they were kinda spiffy, but hardly worth $20/each, IMO... maybe someone will clone them, or come out with a design that has multiple rods/caps in one set?

That's cool but I, too, would like to see multiple rods and tops in one order but I'm very happy with my Q-coiler, it works just fine and is very versatile at less cost. :)

I'm trying to mill something out so you can use a drill at low speed to make coils, Iv got a few ideas. I'll prolly cheat and do as little milling as possible

Strange they mention flipping the coil and tightening it up... that was one of my thoughts on it, to clean up that first wrap :)

I'm all over these when SOMEONE has them in stock. Every store search I find, they are sold out :veryangry:

I'm sure these are awesome, but I think I will stick to old school drill bits and mini screwdrivers.

Gotta love the Chinese capacity to clone something good/popular (and sometimes do it better), practically overnight, and sell it for pennies on the dollar of the authentic :)

I have the whole set - all three sizes - and I love them, worth every penny. Although an argument can be made that coil building is an art (I think it is) these are great for ripping out a perfect coil in literally seconds. I used it recently to make a twisted 28g coil that turned out very nicely. I definitely recommend them. BTW - if you need to buy, or can only get your hands on one size, get the 2mm (CW-20) I find myself reaching for that one more than the others.

I've been coiling my Russians on a 2.25mm or 2.5mm rod. Both work well, depending on the gauge wire you use.

My current set-up is 28ga, coiled on 2.25mm rod to hit 1.4 Ohms (using organic Japanese cotton).

Seems to be the sweet-spot for the single-coil Russian 91% :)
