NCHornet Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Got my VTR yesterday and I am very happy with my choice in the VTR. I ordered a couple different tanks and coils with it. First I used the IClear 30S that it came with. It produces good vapor but not a lot of flavor. It is a firmer draw, it isn't sucking in surrounding air the way others do. This morning I switched to the ProTank 2 and OMG does this thing vape. I can tell the draw is easier, I can feel it sucking in far more air than the IClear 30S. I think the Protank 2 comes with a 2.2 coil IIRC, but I also purchased 1.6 and 1.8 coils for it that I haven't tried. I also have the Nautilus with 1.6 and 1.8 coils but it is still new in the box. So I am getting more than enough vapor, but where is the flavor? I don't have a lot of juices right now, I have a sample pack from WordUp coming next week. Right now I just have some ejuice that I bought from a local vendor, they claim it is 50/50 but I have no idea if this is true, it is also 0 nic, which I prefer as I am not quitting smoking. I was told as a general rule to take the ohm value and double that for your volts, so 2.2 ohm is being vaped at 4.4 volts. I have tried vaping from 7 watts up to the max of 15, but didn't notice much difference in flavor, but there was a difference in the size of the cloud, lol!!! . I have also tried different Volt setting but no diff in flavor. I have a coffee flavor and a cinnabun flavor and to me there isn't much difference in taste between the two and I am not getting a strong flavor at all. I don't know if it is the juice, the new components, or my settings, so any advice would be appreciated. I watch videos on youtube and people are bragging about the great flavor with this or that juice, but I am not seeing much of a difference and no strong flavors at all. Yesterday I went to a local B&M and had them mix up some cinnamon and banana cream, I even paid a few more bucks for extra shots to make it even stronger, but I still have the same issue. I can tell a slight flavor of cinnamon, but it isn't like a piece of Big Red in my mouth. With the banana I taste a slight sweetness, but nothing worth getting excited about. I do have lots of chronic health issues and take a lot of prescription drugs each day, maybe this is the reason I can't taste much? As for the VTR, I am very satisfied with it, now I want to taste what others are tasting, lol!!! I may try the Nautilus later today as many say it really brings out the flavor. Thanks for any help.
Itsmedeanna64 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I hear ya. I have the same problem with not tasting juice very well. Even the strong flavors. I have tried different setups also with the same result. The only juice I am satisfied with is a cinnamon. I am interested in what the forum suggests for this! Deanna
Earthling789 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Some juices taste differently in different tanks, and using a lower Ohm coil can sometimes help to bring out the flavor, so you may try the 1.8 Ohm coil in you KPT2, and try different Wattage settings... I'll venture a guess that your juice will have more flavor around 9W? The Nautilus will help the flavor (usually), but not always. I have juices that taste great in a KPT2, but taste like wet socks in my Nautilus Play with the Wattage settings on your VTR... sometimes a tiny change will make all the difference!
NCHornet Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 Thanks for the advice. I put the Nautilus on and I did taste a bit more flavor, but just a tad. I have been doing my own research and it seems there are lots of folks like Dianna and I. I will try a lower oh coil in the next couple days. I also learned that if you go to places that make their own juice and mix it up after you order it, some say the taste will improve if you just let it sit for a week or two. I am going to order a larger bottle of this Banana Cream and let it sit for awhile and see if there is a difference. Also this isn't like Coke or Dr.Pepper, cinnamon from store A may taste totally different than store B, so you need to find a shop locally that uses components that give the flavor you desire, or like me, you will need to find a online retailer that can do this for you. I will try and remember to post back if I find a solution that works for me. Later NCH
Tam Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 This may sound weird but I found it also helps to exhale through the nose and mouth at the same time. I get a better taste of my juices this way -- others I have coached in vaping also seem to find more flavor while doing this. Might give that a try?
NCHornet Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 You are totally correct, I have noticed the same thing. I ordered a few juices from MT. BAKER and paid for 4 extra flavor shots for each flavor I ordered. I have read good things about their juice. I reckon I will find out in a week or so.
