Soup
Then the battery seems to run down, or something. When I get to my pen after sleep, after I've let it charge for 5-6 hrs, it gives these wonderfully long, full hits of vapor. After about 15 minutes (of steady vaping!) the little light flashes sooner and sooner until I'm huffing and puffing to get decent vapor and/or the light just slowly fades as opposed to flashing. Also, the re-charger had a tiny bit of rust that I only noticed right now. Wondering if this is normal or if I have been sold a faulty unit. Tam
Ha! I was going to ask the same thing, Comp. Also, what resistance of coil (ohm) are you using? It looks like a variable voltage battery, what voltage do you have it set at? Oh, and another thing. Before recharging, do you clean out the point where the battery connects to your clearomizer? You really should do that, as well as cleaning out the connection end of your charger so it gets a good connection for a full charge. Use a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to get all the dried up old juice out -- this time. Then, from that point on, always clean out the connection ends before charging. You might not be getting a full charge if it can't make a good connection. One more thing. For safety's sake, do not leave your battery charging while you sleep unless you have it inside some protective case. You never know if there's a short or something else wrong with the battery and you don't want it to catch on fire while you're sleeping. Soup
The battery says 'Vapor Z' and the cartridge(?) says 'iClear 16 vw/vv.' Other than that, I do not know. The vv goes from 3.2 to 4.8. It came without a box or anything. Starting to think I got the shaft on this one. Should've been smarter and looked around before this impulse buy. There goes 70 bucks down the drain. I do still have the receipt. Wonder if I should return it? Edit: I have it set in the middle. Probably about 4v? But sometimes up to 4.3. Which seems to give better hits but more of a burnt flavor. Edited December 16, 2014 by Soup
Tam
If you're getting more of a burnt flavor, chances are good that your coil is going out or you've burned the wick. If you're having to set it up to 4.3 volts to get a decent hit, I wonder if you have a higher ohm coil like a 2.5 ohm or more? Do you know what resistance your coil is? Compenstine
My guess is a bad battery. If you can get your money back order a Vision Spinner from the V|T store along with a new tank like a KPT Mini 3 to go with it. You could just about get two full setups for the price you paid for that one. I searched the net for your battery to get specs and couldn't find any. It looks like a re-branded generic IGO. http://www.vaportalk.com/shop/vision-spinner-2-battery-1600mah/ http://www.vaportalk.com/shop/pro-tank-3-mini/ You will be a much happier vapor. Tam is very correct on the burnt taste.
Soup
That's what I'm thinking as well. Should I have gotten a booklet or something with my purchase? And, wouldn't the mAh rating and ____ ohm coil info be in there? Thanks.
Compenstine
Yes and no. Your kits will come with that info normally. If it was not a kit then no it would not have that info. As far as the Ohms. Your IClear 16 has a replaceable coil. The ohms of that coil is printed on the shaft of the coil towards the bottom. They didn't print it on the outside of the tank because you can change the coil. Tam
Earthling789
I looked for the specs on your battery too (based on the picture), and it is either a "house-brand" or a new-to-the-street knock-off / clone battery. There is no telling if it is a respectable battery or junk, which has been passed off as top-of-the-line by the retailer. Take Comp's advice... buy a couple of Vision Spinner's or Spinner-2's, or any of the batteries you'll find on the V|T store... they are guaranteed authentic, and probably the best prices you'll find anywhere on the web. As for tanks, the KPT3-minis are excellent (I have 6 of them in regular use), but I would suggest using 1.5 or 1.8 Ohm coils in them, and (if you're using a Spinner or Twist battery) set the Voltage between 3.3 and 3.8V for starters. Rarely do I find a juice that requires me to go higher than 3.8V to get a good, flavorful vape, if I'm using one of those resistance coils. Oh, and don't feel bad about your first purchase... my first "kit" ran me $75 from the local B&M, two medium-size batteries, two tanks, charger, and a case... but nearly 9-months later and those batteries are still going strong! Hopefully they'll refund your money (or at least part of it), rather than store credit, but if they give you store credit, at least you can use that towards juice or something "name-brand"? Itsmedeanna64
For 70 bucks I'd try to return it and say it won't keep a charge. The least they should do is exchange it for a new one even though you might want something different now but it's better than nothing ya know? Soup
Thinking of just buying a new battery. Higher mAh is preferred, is this correct?
Compenstine
A higher mAh will give you more vape time between charges.

Soup
So should this, in theory, give me more vapor? A fully charged battery delivering more of the good stuff? I feel like I have to take a hit, release the button as it starts to blink / hold my breath, wait 2 seconds then depress the button once more and 'finish the hit.' If that makes any sense. Two pulls = one full. Just trying to work out how to get more vapor w/out getting into 'mods' (?) and tricky DIY projects, which I'm not very good at. Compenstine
If what you mean is a bigger cloud there are two factors. The juice should be Max VG or high VG. The coil should be at around 1.5-1.0 on the battery you are looking at. A rebuilt Kanger coil can give that to you in a tank setup. So could the Nautilus Mini. I rebuild my Kanger heads to... 1 get more vapor. 2 get more flavor out of my juice. Higher voltage can also help. Thing is you need good juice that won't burn at the higher voltage and a good coil. Tam
^^^^ What Comp said. Also, be aware that too much VG content and it'll gunk up your coil faster and make it hard for the wick to absorb the liquid so you'll get more dry hits. I wouldn't go any more the 70 VG if you're using a tank with any kind of coil.
Soup
I just need to be able to suck on the pen longer before the light starts flashing, basically. How do I get a set-up that allows for massive rips? And/or long pulls? Is it possible with just a replacement part or two? Considering I have the following 'kit'? 1 ~ Chrome 1100 C-Twist 1 ~ iClear 16 Tank 1 ~ USB cord (...) Etc, etc, they don't mention what kind of atomizer is in there, but it has 4 wicks, if that helps. (Two replacement parts would basically be like buying a new unit. lol. I guess, wtfdik?) Comp is correct, more vapor/more flavor = more satisfying hit. It sounds like you are hitting the 10 second limit on your battery too. What juice are you running? What is the PG/VG ratio and Nicotine? If you run a higher nicotine and PG juice the throat hit will be greater, and therefore might not require such a long draw. The tank's airflow also has a lot to do with how long you have to draw on it. I don't know what you're budget is but a bigger battery, such as: http://www.vaportalk.com/shop/the-vision-vapros-1300mah/, or http://www.vaportalk.com/shop/vision-spinner-2-battery-1600mah/ and a high quality tank like: http://www.vaportalk.com/shop/nautilus-mini-airflow-adjustable-tank-system/ (Nautilus Mini) will give you a much more satisfying vape. Tam
I would give the Aspire Nautilus mini a try. It comes with two extra vertical coils at 1.8 ohms. With our Twist, that should work well to give you a good vape and vapor as long as your juice is right. What PG/VG ratio of juice are you using? I'd go with at least a 50 PG/50 VG or max 30 PG/70 VG. The higher the VG, the more vapor you get. Keep in mind that the higher the VG, the less flavor because PG is the flavor carrier. I regularly vape at 50/50 and can still fog up the home office. jasonculp and Compenstine

Soup
Enjoying a Kahlua / Banana Pudding mix and when I went to say "50/50 mi..." the vape-guy just turned away to complete the order. lol. Kinda rude, but anyways, I'm assuming it's 50/50? Nicotine 36mgs for Kahlua and 24 for the Pudding. Yeah, I was looking at that Vision Spinner II 1600, decent price. No the lowest, but, not the highest. As the battery runs low on my current unit the vape quality def. decreases. Nautilus Mini Tank looks promising as well. If I saved a bit and bought this, would it basically be like buying a new unit? Would I need anything else? Or to add anything else to this set up?
Tam
If you were to buy this, it would be buying new but I'm not sure what you mean by a "new unit." If you bought the Vision Spinner II, all that comes with it is the battery, no charger or anything else. The Nautilus mini is the tank and it comes with two vertical coils at 1.8 ohms. I would suggest you buy at least one 5-pack of replacement coils at 1.8 ohms. You already have a charger for your other battery, that will work with the Spinner BUT I would buy another charger just to make sure it's not the charger that's at fault with your current set up but that's just me. Anything else? Yes. I would invest in some quality juice in at least a 50/50 blend. If you're wanting more vapor, go with a 40/60 (PG is most often the first number / VG the second) but no more than 30/70. May I suggest a quality vendor for all of this? Go with the Vapor Talk store for the hardware. For what we've been talking about, the VT store has some of the lowest prices online, genuine name brands, and excellent customer service. Just for the record, I'm not an employee or anything of the store, just a very satisfied repeat customer. For juices, you can't go wrong with Fadora Vapor. Compenstine is the owner and, as you've seen on this thread, he will bend over backwards to help get you the most accurate information and help with whatever you order from his store. He also happens to make some of the most delicious juices I've tasted. Check out the testimonials under the e-liquid reviews area of the forum. While the VT store sells Fadora liquids, the ratio there is fixed at 70 PG/30 VG. If you go to Fadora's online store at http://fadoravapor.com/you can customize the juice any way you want it. Comp won't steer you wrong. jasonculp

Or to add anything else to this set up? Tam has already started eluding to the need for backups. It is hard to over-stress the need for backups. When you finally get the habit kicked, something will break. I would pick up a less expensive Kanger Pro Tank or aero mini, or Davide mini or something like that. Someone else will have to suggest them, because I don't use them. All it takes is just a slip and you new Nautilus mini hits the ground and breaks. You can get parts to fix it cheaply and easily, but you don't have anything to stop the cravings in the mean time. You current battery will work as a temporary backup, but I would suggest a different tank or at least some coils for it. I carry a little pouch with me everywhere I go. I carry 2 iStick batteries, an Innokin VV V3 battery, and an extra Nautilus Mini, a 5 pack of coils and 30mls of juice. I am not suggesting that you go out and buy double everything. Just don't throw away the old stuff and re purpose it for backups. As you start to get away from analogs and save a bit of money you will start collecting things here and there, before you know it you will have a drawer full of batteries and tanks, and more money in your pocket!
