CornDog Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Hey everyone, fairly new to vaping. Been shopping around for along time now not sure of what to buy until my buddy sold me his red K100 setup for 20 bucks. Ever since that is all I really do now. lol. Born and raised in Socal, father of three boys and married. I am a Press Brake Operator for an aerospace company and a Machinist. Also in the army. So needless to say I'm Vaping on a budget haha. Got my name in the army from my pals and its stuck so CornDog it is. Never new what to buy or start with until I got my Kamry and I love it. Everyone I know that has several mods uses their K100/101 for a daily beater, so I'ma stick with simple but proven Mech. And of course as a metal worker and a machinist I HAVE TO TINKER! So I primarily spend my free time thinking of cool **** I can make for the K100/101 mod. Started with sandblasting different textures, to airplane paint that's well battle proven hardy 8D. Now I'm interested in Machining the telescope and custom making interchangeable parts for the K series mods to mix up the look to match my daily grind. From simply opening up the telescope to expose the battery, to blued titanium K parts. If anyone has some custom telescopes please share some pics and/or share some machining techniques. Its rather hard to find custom made mods. Thanks Joel
joejoevapekins Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 nice to have you. If I had access to machining rigs I'd build my own mech lol
CornDog Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 nice to have you. If I had access to machining rigs I'd build my own mech lol For someone to make you something all they would really need is the either the exact dimensions and threading of your mech, or physically have something to work off of. That's why I like my K so much its simple but can be made into anything. Another factor is material. I can only make something if I have enough scrap left overs from a job, and in a company like the one I work in having enough time to physically work on it is another one reason its only a hobby.
NCHornet Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Welcome, my brother lives in Calabasses and we grew up in Burbank. Finally left CA in 1996 and it was the best thing I have done. But enough on that. Hope you have a great day,
