Tam
Here at Vapor Talk we get a lot of new members who have just started or wanting to start vaping. In a recent post I put all kinds of links to the most recommended hardware. The links all go to the Vapor Talk store because...it's the Vapor Talk forum and we like to support the store that allows the forum to exist. The Vapor Talk store also has some of the lowest prices around, only sell genuine brand names (no knock offs here!), and the customer service is most excellent. Here are recommendations for new vapers who need some help locating things you're not familiar with. We've all been there. It's good that you're asking questions and not running to eBay, which is not a good place to go, imo. It's all too easy to get knock offs there and you don't know it until it's too late. We see the aftermath of this all the time on the forum. Okay, here are some links: Batteries Vision Vapros 1300 mAh: https://www.vaportal...vapros-1300mah/ These are basically Spinners and new. They're just prettier than the regular Spinners is all but still great workhorses. I think they just prettied up the original Spinners and gave them a different name. Vision Spinner 2: https://www.vaportal...attery-1600mah/ You're in luck that they're even lower than before! Chargers Vision USB charger: https://www.vaportal...-rapid-charger/ These are out of stock right now but it usually doesn't take very long to restock. They should have them soon. You can also use the Joyetech charger, they work just as well: https://www.vaportal...0t-usb-charger/ AC wall adapter Joyetech wall adapter: https://www.vaportal...b-wall-adapter/ In my book, these are a must. I love to keep my computers in one piece, and there's a safety overcharge protection built into the adapters for extra protection. Tanks Pro Tank 3 mini: https://www.vaportal...ro-tank-3-mini/ These will be around the same diameter as the battery you have now as well as the Spinners. KPT2 or Kanger Pro Tank 2: https://www.vaportal...hop/pro-tank-2/ These are the full sized tanks and will make your battery and tank combo look a little top heavy (lollypop), but holds more juice. You can use the Aerotank airflow controller on the full sized tanks: https://www.vaportal...3-and-aerotank/ Replacement coils (heating element) for your tanks These are the long stemmed replacement coils for the KPT2 and KPT3 mini. Even though the KPT3 mini comes with a dual coil, you can use the single coils with no problems: https://www.vaportal...ill-dual-coils/ You can also use the short stemmed coils. These are what originally came out for the KPTs and then Kanger changed them to long stem. Some people report leaking on the short stem, I haven't had this problem except with a couple of them. Quality control isn't a priority with Chinese manufacturers so you will get a dud from time to time. https://www.vaportal...pro-tank-coils/ I would go with a 1.5 ohm or 1.8 ohm coil in either of the links above. My personal preference is the 1.8 ohm because I find that it works with the widest range of juices. The 1.5 ohm runs a little hotter than I like, but that's just me. If I forgot something, let me know. Right now, if you're on a budget, these are the things I'd recommend. Later on, you may want to look at an Aspire Nautilus or Nautilus mini with the vertical coil but those are around $24 - $26 and the coils cost more to replace. The KPT tanks are solid performers. They do have a Pyrex glass tank so you'll want to be a little careful not to break them. There is replacement glass available, though. With glass tanks you don't have to worry about what juice you're using. There are some that are known as tank crackers: heavy on citrus, mint, menthol, heavy on cinnamon... Plastic tanks are prone to crack with some of these. Glass tanks are not. If you have something you'd like to add for a noob's a la carte starter set up, please put that in the comments and I'll try to get them added here. We don't want to load up their shopping cart, that would increase their start up costs. Just the bare basics need to go here.
