ParkwayNightmare Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Hey everyone, I am writing this to see if anyone can help shed some light on something for me. I don't know if anyone out there is familiar with Cigabuy (cigabuy.com) but I was browsing their website and they have some insanely low prices! For example, the Vamo V5 they have it listed for $22.26 (www.cigabuy.com/vamo-v5-variable-voltagewattage-mod-apv-px2j2ww-p-3818.html) and I see retailers still selling it for around $50 - $60, a local retailer near me has the V5 listed for $55.. Is it because they're in China and the quality is different? Is it a clone? Is there a big difference between a clone vs. an original? That's not all.. Even the Vamo V6 is cheap as hell through them! $36.69 (http://www.cigabuy.com/vamo-v6-variable-voltagewattage-mod-apv-px2j2ww-p-5611.html) when I've seen it listed for $50 to $60 as well.. What really blew my mind was the damn iTaste MVP 2.0, $36.99 (http://www.cigabuy.com/innokin-2600mah-itaste-mvp-iclear-30-kit-apv-px2j2ww-p-1889.html) local retailers are selling that for like $80 around me.. Have I been living under a rock and never knew about this site? Anyone have success using them? Please someone give me the lowdown.. Because I browse their site and my jaw is on the floor from their prices..
bcartervol98 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Never heard of them but when you say "clone" I generally associate that with a mechanical mod. With APVs like the Vamo and MVP generally I call those "knockoffs". Personally I believe in the "If its too good to be true then it most likely is" guideline. Have you looked in the Vapor Talk store or any other reputable US suppliers? Things are always going to be marked up more with a local retailer. Tam 1
Compenstine Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 No different than Fasttech. Fasttech has the the SS Vamo 6 for $26.49 and the SS Vamo 5s for $26.25. Thing is you will be waiting on it for 4 weeks and if you have an issue with it, you will be paying twice that to get it replaced. spydre 1
charles vapor Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 i bought a coolfire2 from ebay for like $30 and most places were selling it for $80, and even though I really dont like coolfire2 it worked fine and I ended up selling it to a friend and its still working fine for him.
Earthling789 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Comp is correct... buying direct from China is cheaper than US retail sites, but you'll be waiting by the mailbox until you need another haircut... 4-8 weeks is the norm for shipping. I recently received my Nautilus, direct from China... took 34 days from shipping to delivery! So, bottom-line is this... Yes, you get some really good prices by ordering direct from China, especially if buying in bulk. But, if you can't wait upwards of 8-weeks for delivery (with no recourse for damage/defective products), then the slightly higher prices from US retailers is worth it. spydre 1
jasonculp Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I have been to this website. I browse it frequently. I have never bought anything from them. They do seem to have pretty good prices, but I have been reluctant to buy from them because I don't know anything about them. If you don't find what you need here at the Vapor Talk store, look at the lower portion of the forum and there are links to some supporting suppliers. I have not done much business with them, but they do seem to have pretty good prices. I have found that the local B&M's around me mark up around 45% to 80% over what I find on the web. It has been astounding. I am sure it takes a lot to run a storefront, but sometimes I just can't afford it. I have tried to support my local ones as much as possible, but poor service and bad attitude (not to mention price) has made it impossible.
jasonculp Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I just found on their site, they are located in Hawaii. I still do not know anything about them, except their location. http://www.eciggity.com/faq/
Tam Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 I just found on their site, they are located in Hawaii. I still do not know anything about them, except their location. http://www.eciggity.com/faq/ That's a different company, Jason. Your link goes to eciggity but the OP was asking about Cigabuy. Cigabuy is based from China according to their FAQ. Personally, I much prefer to buy from reputable vendors based in the US. If something goes wrong I have more recourse using a US vendor rather than one that's in China. Well over a month ago I put in an order for a few drip tips from Fasttech. Got the "it shipped!" notice over two weeks ago but still haven't seen them yet. http://help.cigabuy.com/about-us spydre and smacksy 2

Tam Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Well, I guess i am going to finally break down and get bifocals... My apologies. I think my remedial reading class starts in the morning....lol No apologies necessary. We all do the same thing from time to time.... Do you need a tutor for the remedial reading class? I have nearly 70 of them working for me.

Tam Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Moisturizing eye drops. We don't tend to blink as much as we should when staring at a monitor for long periods of time. I was pleasantly surprised at how much better my vision gets when my eyeballs are properly lubricated.
jasonculp Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Great advice! It never ceases to amaze me how many things, other than vaping, I learn on here. Thank you.
Tam Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 You're welcome. Your eyeballs are gonna luuuuuv yeeewwww. jasonculp 1

BDM53ENT Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 I feel special, my China shipments hit the door in 12-14 days and Im in frikin Mississippi.
MSmom601 Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 I feel special, my China shipments hit the door in 12-14 days and Im in frikin Mississippi. Maybe I'll get that lucky too...Hopefully MS is the lucky state!
Compenstine Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Maybe I'll get that lucky too...Hopefully MS is the lucky state! I have had good luck with FT the longest I had to wait was 4 weeks because it was held up in China Post. Most arrive within 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. The trick is don't order batteries or juice from them. Doing that will hold up an order for months and 99% of the time, it will be sent back to FT.

BDM53ENT Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) Maybe I'll get that lucky too...Hopefully MS is the lucky state! Im 2 miles from the TN state line. Memphis TN being such a centralized shipping point I tend to get things quickly. I assure you MS isnt lucky LOL. Edited October 25, 2014 by BDM53ENT
mkauthen Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 CA is not lucky either (at least L.A. isn't...) Things tend to take double the stated amount of time to get to me. Its pretty ridiculous. I complain to the post office regularly.... Needless to say, they don't like me, so maybe they just hold up my stuff on purpose...
