Stupidest Question Ever?

I apologise in advance if this has been asked/answered. Many here have offered advice on the cleaning and caring for tanks. I have this lingering thought for efficiency and speed when time is short. If liquid is water soluble, why can't I just when the liquid is finished, just rinse the tank with drinking quality water, shake it out and refill? I realise the liquid would be slightly diluted, but if it still works, why not? I've also read somewhere that people have tried oil based liquids and things like vanilla extract and weird things like that and got in trouble, but I don't remember details. I really think my liquid is water soluble because when I've spilt some on a table or had leaks, I've been able to clean up with just water without benefit of detergent. I thought I'd throw this out there before I ruin something :) Thanks for any ideas.

Water is not easily vaped and most people reject it. You can thin a juice very slightly but has to be mixed well. Also water will inhibit the wick from wicking.

Dry it up best you can imo

I use water for rinsing out my tanks and drip tips. Alcohol for coils only. Never had a problem doing this. Also, I've diluted an overly thick juice with a drop of two of distilled water with no problem. Virgin Vapor uses water in some of their juices, which is where I got the idea. :)

Oh, and this is not the stupidest question ever, Jonnoh. You'll have to do better than this to top the "stupidest" question. Lol

Wait? You're supposed to CLEAN these things??:D

Seriously... I clean mine whenever they get gunked-up or I notice a film beginning to form on the interior of the glass, which indicates contaminants have made it into the juices. "Thorough cleaning" involves a little dish-soap, but a quick rinse with hot water does wonders! I always let them dry overnight, OR use an alcohol rinse with cheap Vodka (safe to vape if a drop gets left behind) to aid in dispersing water from the crevices, to speed up drying time :)

I totally agree with Tameiki. The old saying "There is no such thing as a stupid question" is so true! I have learned so much from these so called "stupid" questions! Just looking at the statistics of this board at any given time, such as now, there are over 200 people reading this board, less than 30 are members. In the last few hours only a handful of them have posted. So out of all those people, I am sure someone else was thinking the exact same thing, but didn't want to ask. I read for months on this and other boards before I finally got the guts to start asking questions.

Example:

Take one pill three times a day

How many?

One

One time?

No three times.

One three times?

Yes

How can I take one three times?

No one of these pills three times a day.

If I take it one time and it is gone how can I take it two more times?

You can't you must then take another pill for each of the two more times in one day

But you said......

I know, I'm sorry maybe I should have explained better. You understand now?

Yes. When should I stop?

When they are finished.

When will that be?

Let's count together and we will see.

Ok, here's three for the first day, three more for the second day, and three more for the third day. Then they will be finished.

Ok so how many again?

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

What?

You perfectly described a similar conversation my brother once had with his doctor... although he was confused how he was supposed to take his meds... the doctor told him he was not to take them at the same time (meaning both every 4-hours or both every 6 hours)... one pill every 6 hours, and another pill every 4 hours.

But, since both would be taken at the same time every 12th hour, if he started at 6am (thinking they COULD NOT EVER be taken together), he spent 30-min arguing with the doctor...

The doctor finally gave up and told him to take the 6-hour pill at 0600, noon, 1800, and midnight... and the 4-hr pill at 0630, 1030, 1430, 1830, 2230, and skip the 0230 dose!

AND, after he finally grasped that concept, he then over-stressed about how he was going to take them if he's sleeping :wallbash:

(Worst part... he was 38-yrs old at the time!)

Growing up, I honestly hoped one of us was adopted (I still tell everyone he was) :D

I love this conversation! My wife and I had exactly the same one the other day. "Take 1 pill 2 times a day" on day 5 she said she had 5 of the 10 pills left.... :wallbash:

I deal with this on the "production" end of our business. I revise my previous statement, there are stupid questions, most begin in our shop.

  • 4 weeks later...

I have always used rubbing alcohol to clean out my protanks and then rinse it good with purified water.especially after using a cinnamon juice and wanting to vape a fruity flavor after.

In my opinion, I prefer to use vodka instead of rubbing alcohol. The rubbing alcohol has too many things in it that's harder to rinse out thoroughly. I don't mind vaping a little vodka should it linger in the wick... :)

I work in IT and at times do some residential work for people that want their computer fixed but don't want to bring it into the shop.

A woman had called and asked for an on-site visit because her brand new computer was not playing music. This was...hmmm, around mid-March.

I get to her house, lug in all my tools, replacement speakers, CDROM drive, installation discs etc and start talking to her to get some more information.

She had a Christmas CD and said her computer wouldn't play it. So I took the CD out of the jewel case, opened the CDROM drive and put the CD in. Checked to ensure speakers were plugged in, turned on, that Windows volume wasn't turned all the way down or muted...all were fine

I opened Windows Media Player and pressed play, not knowing what to expect. However the music starts playing and she looked absolutely stunned. I asked her if this was the correct CD? Does it sound OK? Is it too loud? Are you able to hear it at all?

She kept staring at me and said she didn't understand what I did. I walked her through the process of opening Windows Media Player and pressing play. I even placed a shortcut on her desktop (to some people if there isn't an icon on the desktop then the program doesn't exist at all to them).

She was amazed, and thanked me but I still wanted to know (out of morbid curiosity) what her process was.

Ready?

She had never taken the CD out of the jewel case. She assumed that if she had a computer it would automatically, through magic, play her CDs. She'd obviously gotten this CD and computer for Christmas and had been struggling for months.

I explained that's not how it works, that the computer would need to have the CD actually in the computer...etc etc.

I then, after a 10 minute house call, had to charge her the one hour minimum of $115.00.

So, if that was TL;DR...there most certainly are stupid questions. But none has been asked by anyone here. :)
