NoComply
Hi all, Short bio ... Been vapping for over a year. Mostly use Kanger tanks and an Itaste MVP with 18 mg nic. My question is I want to produce the huge clouds I see in our neighborhood shop but am a bit to intimidated to ask: Is there a tank system that can produce huge clouds or do I have to buy a dripper? I am not mechanical inclined so any help will be much appreciated. Thank You!!!!
christov11
drippers RDA / rebuildable tanks RTA. An RTA could be a great in between for you and ive seen a few people produce massive amounts of vapor with them! There are quite a few, kayfun/russian, my personal favorite was the kraken(never had one but found it looked really bad a*s) So in that case you have a tank to supply juice and more vapor production. also the flavor is more pronounced, or so I hear. Personally went from tanks to drippers and have found the transition easy, since I only vape at the same intervals as I used to smoke, 5-10 times a day. i usually take 3 seconds to dxrip and then pop the cap back on and vape away on my breaks from work. at home I dont really chainvape nor did i chainsmoke either. so i drip and vape and set it aside. both are really great exceptttttttttttttt and I hope I dont get shot for this. ive heard a lot about RTAs leaking. they hold juice and have the airflow a dripper needs = a highchance of leaking. and ive had my drippers leak too, if i dont finish the well thats in there and put the device on its side then i will for sure have a nice little pool of juice on the desk. I went strait into drippers because of that: less parts = more simple(in my mind) so I got myself a stillaire and started experimenting with builds. started looking for builds around1 ohm and then gradually went down to 0.25 ohms as I got more confident and felt safer with what I was actually building... as long as you use the proper tools and do everything with safety as the priority you should be fine! Im no pro but if you want tips or whatnot you can always pm me without the worry of being judged or called out on whatever questions you have Edited September 30, 2014 by christov11
Bebop
Huge clouds? No . Decent clouds? Have to go with a dual or triple coil tank like the nautilus or joyetech Delta. Even if you go with an RTA like Christov describes you would have to build coils.
Tam
I have to agree with Bebop. There are no tanks with premade coils that are going to give you HUGE clouds like an RDA and sub-ohm coils. That said, get yourself a Nautilus or a Nautilus mini with the vertical coils in either 1.5 or 1.8 ohm. Add some high VG juice and you should be able to put out some vapor. My Nautilus mini with 1.8 ohm vertical coil and 50/50 juice puts out more vapor than I usually want. There have been times when I had to turn on a fan and open the window -- it got a little dense in the room. YMMV. mkauthen
charles vapor
check out the orchid. It's a dual coil setup and has very sufficient airflow for a RTA. My friend has his built at .6 ohms and it rivals a few of his drippers. look into it, I was impressed at the vapor production for it being an RTA. triangletodd
Earthling789
I agree with everyone else... no factory tank with factory pre-built coils will make huge clouds, with maybe the exceptions Bebop mentioned... then again, they still will not equal an RDA. If you want HUGE clouds, you'll need to evolve into using an RDA (dripper) or RTA (tank like Kayfun, Russian, Orchid, or perhaps including a Genesis tank like a Kraken). To get the big clouds, you have to have good airflow, high VG content juice, and very low resistance (sub-ohm) coil(s)... which also means you have to have a battery that will handle high-AMP draw. Your MVP will only let you go down to 0.8 Ohms at the VERY lowest, and at that point, your Amps/Wattage/Voltage are limited by the device, so you're output will not equal 0.8 Ohms on an un-regulated MOD with a good 18650 battery. I get satisfying vapor out of my AeroTank/MVP set-up... using 50/50 juices, but the factory coils tend to give out quickly with thick juices. A Nautilus (as Tam suggested) may produce more vapor (and last longer) with the BVC coils. My Russians produce great vapor (near or exceeding my Magma RDA), which is more than enough for me ... then again, they are RTA's and I'm building them @ 1.0-1.4 Ohm and using them primarily on an un-regulated MOD (but have used them with my MVP)! christov11
I kindof gave more general info up there... but heres a few questions for you: Do you mind getting into building? do you want a tank for its juice capacity? Are you chasing flavor or clouds or want a bit of both? Edited October 1, 2014 by christov11
charles vapor
ya, thats a good start christov, need to know that before we can really give a good answer.
NoComply
Thank you to everyone for the assistance. To answer your questions: 1. I'm not that mechanically inclined and I start a new job with a lot of traveling so at this point I don't think I'll have time for it but I do want to learn more about (have dreams of making a Lightsaber mod). 2. Tank: I looked into the Nautulis mini and it looks better than the evidence I've been using. 3. Looking for a little of both. To be quite honest I burn through wicks and sputter alot. I know this is due to the way I vape as I like a good throat hit and just assumed that a dripper would be a better fit for my vapping style. I've learned a lot from just this one post so thanks again everyone. I won't feel so intimidated going into my local shop next time.

christov11
in this case it depends on the time youre willing to give to building. The first couple weeks are usually the ones where youre going to be building a bunch of coils since 1. its new so its fun and 2. to find the build that will satisfy what youre looking for. That being said once you get through that little patch of experimenting, its A LOT easier and less time consuming. My everyday build takes me no more than 10 minutes to make and its good for a few weeks to a month until i WANT to build again, not that i actually NEED to. If you change flavor often you can simply change the wick which takes all of 30 seconds to do. The initial set up with the tools and ohm meter etc is what you need and of course the atty but I can guarentee that you will discover a whole new side of the flavors you use and a massive improvement in throat hit and vapor production. Since you will be building your own coils, you will be able to fine tune it to find your sweet spot. I personally thought that dripping would be too time consuming before I actually got into it and as I said, the initial search for the right build was fun and now that i have found it it takes no time. For actual dripping, once youre set up and wanna go vape. honestly, it doesnt take that long. I persoanlly make sure ive vaped all the juice so that if ever i set down the mod, there are no leaks through the airholes. we joke about it often but hitting a red light while driving is more than enough time to pop the topcap off drip and pop the topcap back on. if you really dont have 30 seconds to do so when you want to vape then i would suggest an RTA, in that case you can build it at home comfortably and before starting your day fill up the tank and go. mind you, since it will be burning through more juice you might have to refill it half way through the day. IMHO if youre able to take the time to take a cigarette out of a pack take a lighter out of your pocket and light it up then Im sure you would be able to find the time to pop on and off a topcap to drip and enjoy. Not to mention stopping at a store to buy cigarettes everyday or so... Some people dont like dripping at all but I would suggest to try it if you feel safe enough to do so. If not then there are a bunch of tanks that can deliver great flavor and a little more vapor like the nautilusmini (aparently one of the best for flavor, I have the regular nautilus but it isnt close to what kind of vapor and flavor i get with the dripper). when you will actually be building, it all seems a lot more complicated than it really is. where it does get iffy is when you go into super sub ohming. If you follow what people normally do and the setups they use the batteries the mods etc. I dont think you will be unsafe. its when people start experimenting with set ups that havent been proven that things could get dangerous. I personally dont have any calculators to follow ohms law or anything except my ohm meter to know where my resistance is. When I build i test it before i put it on the mod. adjust the coils so they are clean and simetrical and the wraps are touching etc. and then retest it on the ohm meter to make sure its still at the ohms i wanted it to be. I simply have taken into consideration what people have used and the builds they make and made something simple that fully satisfies my needs. dual 7 wrap 24g around a 1.6-2.0mm precision screw driver. its a really simple build that I love. puts out 0.25-0.3 ohms which I know isnt too much for my mech mod and battery. that being said, I am careful not to drain my battery too much. rule #1: BE 100% SAFE. Its a whole other world worth peaking into.
christov11
if you dont want to build at alllllllll and really are sticking to tanks and premade coils I would suggest the nautilus mini. but as said previously, dont expect "clouds". there will be vapor but nothing close to what could be produced with a dripper
bcartervol98
Depends on how you define "cloud" really. I can fog up my man cave or my office with just a pull or two off a Davide Mini @ 1.8ohms (single coil)at 3.8v on my Spinner 2. It's sort of about the liquid too mine is roughly 75% VG and the rest are flavorings no PG added. I'm not gonna win any cloud competition with a RDA Subohmer but I don't want to lol. My setup and liquid does blow away all my friends setups but the main difference is the liquid. I guess it depends on the OPs desired effect. and youre also right about the juice. the ratios make a rediculous difference! Tam
My HH.357 at 2.0 ohms, a Vision Spinner or Spinner II and 50/50 juice will fog up my home office quite well, especially if I'm chain vaping.
Rodeo302
Check out kangers aerotank mega turbo it has 2 dual coils in it and it's a 6 mil tank so it should last a while if your don't want to get into rebuilding out should make decent clouds from everything I have heard and read it will outperform the nautilus.
