calculating wattage and amps on mech mod

Yes. It is all the same. The only things I find a little different is the things are not as linear. The electrical laws don't ever change, but more watts doesn't mean better necessarily. There is so many other variables that you can't plug into calculators, such as, atomizer type, airflow, wicking material, coil size and placement, juice PG/VG/Nicotine ratios and your individual taste!

Here are some of the calculators I use:

http://www.steam-engine.org

http://coiltoy.ermeso.com/

http://www.ohmslawcalculator.com/ohms_law_calculator.php

There are also android and iphone apps too!

Good luck, keep reading, and ask questions! There are a lot of smart, and experienced people on this site that will always be glad to help. I can only hope to have a small portion of the knowledge of the people here some day!

Jason is correct... Ohm's Law does not change... The variables are in your build, Voltage drops across the MOD or tank/RBA/RDA, battery, coil, juice, air-flow, etc., etc....

Using a Mech MOD also means you determine your Wattage and Amps based on the resistance of the coil, and the Voltage of the battery at peak (4.2V) as it drops from use will create a decline in the Wattage as well. This is why Variable Voltage/Wattage devices are popular, as they regulate the Voltage or Wattage, regardless of the variable of coil resistance (and also add in low/high limits for operational safety).
