christov11
Drumroll please! welcome me into the world of RDAs! Went and got a brass stillair some 28g kenthal cotton micro-phillips ohm reader a manicure set(tweezers etc.) I think Im only missing a torch but while talking to the guys at the shop they told me it was optional... i guess it might be a question of opinion. Anyways! So here I am. At work With everything laid out on my desk... Trying to figure out how to buid haha I did A LOT of reading and video watching so dont worry about safety etc. Now I cant seem to get a coil give me more resistance than 0.08....... I want to be between 1.0-1.2 Anyone know any builds that "should" give me that kindof reading? Pictures will be coming

Mtdobies
Welcome! Did you get a lil blue screw driver w your RDA? If so wrap 7 /6 on it and heat it pinch it carefully and heat it again. While deck is on your ohm Meyer w screwdriver in coil carefully lift the coil up towards the top of the posts slightly check ohms and again make sure screw are tight and check again Hope this helps. Earthling789
I may not be able to help you build the coil, but I can say... That brass Stillare is Beautiful! Nice! Mtdobies
VapeHappy
Right on, once you get going on that you`ll be trying every flavor you go in it. My root bear, is the bomb, my Poppin Pineapple, not so much. You`ll find that some flavors just really shine in it, and some flavors go the other way, meh, LOL. Ya, for RDA you really don`t need a torch. I have never used one for mine, which is also the brass stillare 22mm. I use a left over ciggy lighter to anneal the wire, wrap it, put it in, and I like to keep a little space in between the wires because there is so much space to work with, I also believe it helps keep lots of juice on the coil. Make sure your battery can handle the amp load of your finished coils safely, using Ohms Law. Now I cant seem to get a coil to give me more resistance than 0.08....... I want to be between 1.0-1.2 One more wrap should do it, :?) (you do mean point 8 and not point Oh 8, right?) Cheers, R
christov11
Yeah Im looking to get 1.0 ohm I got a build down at 0.43 ohm and wicked it up. in half an hour Im going to get some joice at 6mg nic since its gonna be hitting harder(right?) anyways the 18 mg was a little too harsh. I have the MXJO 26650 3500mah 3.7V battery. aparently one of the better ones out there but please correct me if im wrong... a littel favor to ask anyone actualy. Can somone check the safety of the whole set up for me? I have very limited access to the internet while at work and im like a kid right now I just wanna get it working to try it hahaha plus I wont be home all weekend with limited signal (going up north). i did a buiild i think its called the siamese? no idea just looked right. 10/9 wraps with 28g kenthal. like I said it gave me 0.43 ohms or at least thats what the reader says. Was careful not to get any hot spots and to make sure the coils glow went evenly from the middle to the ends and obviously synchronized. when I went with my 18mg juice it was INTENSE!!! but I was still able to see the insane difference in flavor... its going to be hard to go back onto my nautilus with this in the mix hahah

fishguy1123
Do you use any apps or web calcs? Android vapors tool box or steam-engine.org are pretty good. Steam engine has more options. Giveit a try for a good starting point.
christov11
Not yet I will go get some but at work I can't use my phone ... PITA!!!
fishguy1123
You will likely still want to get a lower nic level in your juice. More vapor production offers more nic per pull.....
christov11
SO.... I went back to the shop... I got lower nic juice... And then I saw the brass cartel.... And the black stillair... And then i paid... Cool thing is they gave me a deal on it and then gave me more kenthal and cotton! I know its not much but just that they would do that was nice! VapeHappy
That`s looking better Chris, bigger coils and fewer wraps. You may want to take your tweezers and try and make them a bit more even, the spacing in between the coils. So that the same amount of juice can get between them and eliminate hot spots in the cotton, which will start to fry the cotton at some point. While on the subject of cotton, I want to say I did the same thing myself with my first build. I used way too much cotton. That amount of cotton will actually trap your juice and keep it away from the coil, instead of drawing it to the coil. Think of a hurricane lamp, you want the cotton to wick up the juice and take it to the coil. I use little tails of cotton fanned out onto the deck, making sure the strands are parallel and not bunched up where it will swell and pool. Once you use the right amount of cotton (less is more), it`ll look like its translucent when juiced up, the cotton will just barely be visible in the juice. I would take pics but I`m supposed to be getting work done right now, LOL. As soon as I can get a sony, I`m going below point 5 myself, :?) Oh, I drip 24 and 32 mg quite a bit, I like it, ha, ha, ha. Just got to know when the stomach says "put it down!" PUT IT DOWN, LOL. Cheers, R
christov11
Thanks! Ill try that right away... im gonna take it apart again and make another... hehe
VapeHappy
I took a vape break, ha ,ha. And got the camera. I wanted a used look to this rig, not fake, but used... This is almost spent, maybe one or two hits left. Apple Dapple from our gracious host. Its GOOD in the drip. And juiced up. Keep in mind the cotton is kinda dirty from the 5-6 previous drips. Maybe a better shot, IDK, LOL. I love this stuff. Vaping. Those nasty cigars, all they did was feed an addiction. But with this, I get a sense of accomplishment and peace that I`m not putting this into my body no more......................... Old pic from the cigar forum days........ I added that above to give credit to how much cleaner vaping is, the house is freaking clean. :?) I`m clean.
