jasonculp Posted August 9, 2014 Author Share Posted August 9, 2014 It is a strange plastic, it looks very sturdy. I am not sure what it is. The guy at the shop told me it was indestructible. I found some on ebay for about half price, but I am thinking I should just buy another complete Nautilus. I closed my paypal account after I apparently bought a camera and had it shipped to someone else in the North East, a far cry from Texas. I am trying, not very successfully, to keep my vape spending less than what I would have spent on analogs. It has really tested my will power. There is so much stuff I want to try! The good news is, once you get the basics and back-ups... weekly expenses for vaping is 1/4 to 1/5 what you would have spent on analogs (at least it is for me), so you'll be in better shape financially (and your health), and won't feel so bad when you drop a few bucks on something shiny and new... after-all, you deserve a treat, right? I think if I would spend another $200 or so I would have enough hardware that I would be fairly satisfied for a while. I could then focus of finding different liquids. I'd recommend focusing on having two to four quality batteries, and at least four quality tanks (and two boxes of coils). With that in your arsenal of hardware, you can focus on juices and isolate things you like right now. Your tastes will change after a few months of vaping because you'll get your ability to taste "back". AND, you'll have the opportunity to really evaluate your hardware to see if you need something different, or more of the same (later). (Tanks, backups, etc.) I think now the rest is want stuff....lol None of the stuff I want is necessary to keep me from going back to smoking. I want to start building my own coils, and making a little juice. Most of that $200 has to do with that. I guess what I am saying is that I have the all the stuff necessary for the smoking cessation program, now I am ready for the hobby end of things! Wanting: Mechanical mod Batteries/Charger Kanthal DIY Liquid supplies I have gathered things in a weird way. I have all the tools and safety equipment just sitting here. I just don't have anything to use in them yet! After reading everything I could find, I started with ohm meters, coil building tools, gloves, graduated cylinders, and beakers. I have never been able to make Kanger products work for me, so they just sit in the bottom of a box. I guess I need to buy a spool of Kanthal and see what I can do! That's a good idea. Compenstine Posted August 10, 2014 Share Posted August 10, 2014 I find that the rebuilt coils in the Kanger are far better than the stock coils. (Just my opinion) The thing I disliked about the Kanger Tanks was the air flow. The Areo base is a huge improvement. In the event of a leak it will also catch the juice and keep it off the battery terminal. You can get a couple 100ft spools of Kanthal for a good price through TEMCo for less than 3 5pks of OEM coils . I would suggest 100ft 30ga and 100ft 28ga to start. As far as this Nautilus Tank replacement, I can't justify spending more for a plastic tank than the full OEM Nautilus tank. The price just seems a little over the top for me.
