VapeHappy
What wire size should I get? What rope size too, :?) For about 1.5 to 1.8 ohm. I would measure, but it would mean tearing up a new atty, :?( TIA, Randall
Raptor Vaper
Use a coil building calculator to find your desired resistance. Enter either 30 or 32 gauge kanthal and your target resistance. Will tell you exactly how many wraps to do! Wick it with organic cotton. Much better flavor! Edited July 30, 2014 by Raptor Vaper

Compenstine
Compenstine, on 30 May 2014 - 01:50 AM, said:Yes I have, I use 30ga for my standard coils and a 18ga blunt needle. The only difference is I use cotton for the wick so I can replace it more easily after I pull the old one out and dry burn it. Doing this makes it like a fresh coil. I also heat compress the coil like you would for a micro and use 8-9 wraps for a 2.0 to 1.8 ohm coil. Here is a wrap list I started and am still working on for ohm ranges KPT Micro Coil on a 18ga Blunt Needle5 wraps = 1.2-36 wraps = 1.4-57 wraps = 1.6-78 wraps = 1.8-9*9 wraps = 2.0-1*10 wraps = 2.2-3*11 wraps = 2.4-512 wraps = 2.6-713 wraps = 2.8-914 wraps = 3.0-1 Just some extra info you find helpful. Tam
The first thing on your shopping list should be a dedicated ohm meter if you don't already have one. Rixter
VapeHappy
Right on Rix, thank you. That`s just the 411 I was looking for. I had seen your tute, but was being, ahem, lazy in my research, LOL. Thanks Tam, its on the short list. Hey Rix, loving on some Toby Mac right now. Then its on to some Grits, :?) R
